Re: Kawasaki ZX12R Ninja

A little progress on the Kawasaki. The rear end and front end have come together on the chassis. Here's a few photos.

More later.I've got a lot of parts drying at the minute.

Very nice progress... it's such a nice kit. You should drill out the front brakes or give them a wash. It will really make the details pop out.

Hey Steve, I agree on Ole. It will make the model look better (if it isn't already perfect). By the way, what color did you use on the chain? Is it handpainted. I always have a little problem with this part.
Keep it coming!

Re: Kawasaki ZX12R Ninja

Got a bit further.Exhaust is fitted (some more rivets to add on the end can) The rear seat unit is also fitted. The headlight assembly and the petrol tank (the one under the cover) is fitted.I didn't know the outer tank (the green one) was a dummy/cover until I built this model.

Yes,I agree.I'll probably give them a light wash later.I did drill out the rear brake and this does look a lot better.Although I think the drill I used was ever so slightly too big.

For the chain.I first sprayed the whole thing in Tamiya metallic grey and when dry lightly sprayed Vallejo Air black onto the back sprocket (no masking required) as long as you're careful how you angle the airbrush nozzle. When this is thoroughly dry pick out the side plates of the chain in Tamiya enamel gold and the rivet pins in Tamiya gunmetal with a very small brush.Last off pick out the sprocket nuts with Tamiya chrome, again with a very small brush.Hope this helps.

I've had enough now so I'm calling it a day.I've been working on the model since this morning.Time for some food me thinks!! Thanks for looking.
