Re: registering on teamswift.net

Just out of curiosity, what browser are you using to register with?

If you're using Firefox, try using Internet Explorer.

Good luck!

Re: registering on teamswift.net

Ah, this is getting ridicules!!! I finally received an email stating that my account, “metro maniac” has been activated, but I still can not log on. The strange thing is that I was able to make a profile for this account and it is an old name that I tried, was unable to get to work and I then forgot about. I some how managed to create a profile for “metro maniac”. In doing this, I must have changed my password and/or email address. This is the first time I have been able to create a profile and I do not understand how I was able to do this. After creating a profile for “metro manic”, I have made repeated attempts to create another profile and/or modify another username that I have tried in the past, but I have not been able to make another profile.

This is so disappointing and such a tragedy. To get the email I have been seeking for several months and then only to find that I can not log on. This quest has been going on for months now and I am having physical & emotional stress problems because of the difficulties relating to joining this forum. It makes me angry and unable to comprehend how teamswift.net mods think of themselves as above and beyond what is commonly accepted as spam controls and block out email domains and/or make it difficult to join the forum. I am a member of this forum as well as several other forums and I have never ever seen such non-sense.

Just don’t know about this teamswift.net stuff …don’t know if it worth it, Shimaze.

PS> I am using Explorer 7.0

Re: registering on teamswift.net

I sent a message to one of the other mods.

I've checked the member list and your username metro maniac is listed. It seems to match your profile except that the location is Toronto.

Maybe what you should do is go to the log in page and click on the "lost password" link and reset it.

Also, you might have a link in your email that you need to click on to activate the account.

But don't stress out so much friend. It sounds like progress is being made here.

Re: registering on teamswift.net

Way, I appreciate your help, I really do.

I tried to reset my password, but when I created the profile for “maxium metro”, it deactivated my account. When I try to reset my password, I get this message:

“Sorry, but your password cannot be retrieved because your account is currently inactive. Please contact the forum administrator for more information”

Unfortunately, I changed to the email domain from hotmail to inbox.com. I have not received a reply on inbox.com. Knowing my bad luck, inbox.com is a banned domain. If inbox.com is banned, I may have lost my one & only chance to be a part of teamswift.net. I have checked my mail at inbox.com and I do not have any messages from teamswift.net. The reply at hotmail.com I have that activated “maxium metro” said this:

“Hello maxium metro, Your account on "TeamSwift" has now been activated, you may login using the username and password you received in a previous email. -- Thanks, The Management”

There was no activation link, or any keys or codes to use.

I will wait for a message to appear at inbox.com, but I don’t think I will get one because the auto messages from the teamswift.net usually appear immediately. The name I want to use is: “shimaze” I registered tonight, (10/27) with this name and I used hotmail and I did get the welcome auto reply. This name shows up in the list of new members. I will try to create a profile for Shimaze, but I do not know how I did it for maxium metro. I will keep checking my hotmail account and I will keep trying to create a profile for “shimaze”, plus I’ll keep an eye on inbox.com to see if I get any thing from teamswift.net

What I have learned so far is that it appears as if hotmail is the only one to use. And I am not sure, but it seems as if you have to create a profile before the account will work and before you get a confirmation message that the account has been activated. It may take awhile before a profile can be created after the account is first registered. It is obvious that almost every one has trouble joining teamswift.net. I look everyday at the list of new members and see that between 10 to 20 people try to join, but every couple of days the list of new members is flushed and only a handful remain.

I’ll keep trying to join! Again, thanks for your help, Shimaze

PS> Thanks for sending a message to one of the other mods. The reason my location is Toronto Canada is because the forum is predominantly Canadian and I thought it would help. I have also used Seattle Washington because this is where one of the mods is from. I thought the mod would hook me up if he knew one of his hometown boys wanted to join the forum. But that didn’t work!

Arrow Re: registering on teamswift.net

Correction, I got accepted under the name of "maxium metro", not "metro maniac" To set the record straight, I wish to join teamswift.net using the screen name “shimaze”, the other two were just experiments. Sorry the confusion. Thanks, Shimaze

Here is graphical list my efforts

Thumbs up Re: registering on teamswift.net

OK, here is the real deal!!! If you want the privilage of joining teamswift.net you need to use inbox.com! You can create a free email account at www.inbox.com just like you do at gmail, hotmail, or aol/aim. The mod gods do not have inbox.com blocked. If this worked for me, anyone can do it! Thanks to everyone for your help! Sincerly, Shimaze

Re: registering on teamswift.net

Kudos for your diligence, shimaze. Thank you for posting your findings. I think I will return the snobbery, however, and refuse to register there to spite them. So there!
