Re: wideband questions
for the wideband?
I spliced it off the backlight for my boost gauge. Which is wired straight up to positive and negative terminals on the ecu. It was an easy target because when I took off my afc it was right there and exposed so I was like perfect unsolder one wire resolder a new one

Re: wideband questions
I've always taken power for miscellaneous interior gadgets from the cigarette lighter circuit. It's easy to tap into, already fused for 10 amps, etc. As long as you don't actually use the cigarette lighter of course...

Re: wideband questions
well as it turn out the wideband came early so i put it in today. i got everything soldered up and installed but my gauge hooked up to the analog output is reading 8.6 at idle while my narrowband on my turbo timer reads 14.7 what could be the problem. could it be my calibration i followed the directions as best i could could it be something else?

Re: wideband questions
wait you have a narrowband and a wideband? Don't trust the narrowband at all. What part is logging the 8.6 is it the dsmlink or the actual gauge. If it is the dsmlink its probably some kind of software error. Like How i chose the wrong wideband input

Re: wideband questions
my wideband controler has two analog outputs a simulated narrowband output which is designed to go with my gauge and a much wider analog output which is spliced into my ecu. But the gauge should still get accurate readings from 9-17 AFR the second analog output is designed for readings from 7.5-22.5 AFR. Yes i still have a narrowband with my TT but theres no way my AFR is 8.6 at idle

Re: wideband questions
well i just plugged in dsmlink to see what value it was getting and dsmlink was logging 15.4-16 afr at idle while my gauge was still off as well. Maybe i have to program the wideband and set the value its seeing at idle as 14.7 with the logging software? I assumed it would automatically figure out the afr based on the free air calibration

Re: wideband questions
Sounds like the display is set for another type of fuel, probably methanol.

Re: wideband questions
The WBO2 unit may only be sending the lambda value to the display, and the display has to display it in the desired AFR unit. I can't recall if my techedge unit programs the AFR fuel type in the unit itself or in the display, but both can be programmed with a laptop. Either way, this is something to take up with the manufacturer of the product IMO.

Re: wideband questions
If I did I would have handed you all your answers on a silver platter, because that's how I roll. Unfortunately I have been running the Techedge unit for the last 4-5 years (www.wbo2.com). I don't know why it's not more popular than it is, depsite being the first supported by DSMlink, it's badass.
My unit is grounded to some bolts under the center console, since I have it mounted under my passenger seat.
