I say "lol" all the time. Maybe this explains my lack of friends?
 Seriously though, I do use "lol" alot. When something is mildly funny, but not funny enough for me to actually start laughing, I will always say lol.

I never say or even think "lol" as a word if I'm reading it...I always read it as and say it in my head as "laugh out loud"
Kinda wierd when I see something funny and say in my head "laugh out loud"

When I first went on MSN and Yahoo chat- I though lol was the word lull- as in to "lull about"- One time a girl I was chatting to said that her mum said lol all the time
