Use Tamiya clear orange X-26 for the turn lights. Put a piece of Bare Metal Foil or silver paint on the back of the light.

Hey Ole,
do you use a brush or an airbrush for this?

Re: Honda Cbr1100xx Blackbird

I airbrush it as it will look much better. It's a fairly thick paint, so thinning it a bit is recommended, but you can airbrush unthinned. I paint on the outside of the part, but have seen Tamiya recommend you paint from the inside of the clear part.

It's the mesh from the kit.

little update

I've been working on the exhausts and did some CF. I also used the tamiya weathering kit for the first time.
Still needs to be clear coated.

I agree, looks perfect! Can you describe how you made, and mounted, the fasteners for the springs as I have never tried this detailing part myself.

Looking great. Each piece looks like a model on it's own!

Very nice....

Hey Joel,

about the fasteners. I took some copper wire ( 0.35mm) and bended them with a round mouth grip (don't know if this is English) . Then I fitted them with cyano glue.

Re: Honda Cbr1100xx Blackbird

Ok. A follow up then, did you fit the second "hook" with the spring attached or did you put them at a meassured distance and then attach the spring? My worry is to get the spring to stay in place.

Hey Joel,

I first put the second hook at a meassured distance and than after the glue had cured I positioned the springs to have a look.
The benefit of the springs is that they actually work like springs. Keep in mind to use enough cyano to put on the hooks. You can also use a bit extra cyano on both sides of the hooks to create seams .
