Much obliged for that! And thanks for the pics!

I don't get it. Why did they go 1/25??? I mean, isn't their market research division professional enough to see that all (for the exception of the new AMT and Revell models) Japanese cars' models are in 1/24 and that people, interested in those types of cars, will be looking for that scale to be able to add them to their collection. IMO, that's a definite and a serious marketing mistake. And I will not be geting them (just as the ITR, and the F&F AMT models)

Ales,
When you pony-up the $700,000. it costs to tool-up a new kit, you can decide what scale it will be. AMT and Revell were making 1/25 kits long before the japanese companies were even in business. I'm glad they don't take more tips from the japanese like, NO ENGINES! With no engine, it's just a paint job with wheels.

If they took more tips from the Japanese, maybe we could see a decent molding from American companies then. I would love that.

look on the bright side, at least the japanese aftermarker wheels would be bigger than they should, kinda good.

You questioned the professionalism of their marketing department because you don't agree with their sticking to a scale that they have used for over 40 years. That's pretty arrogant IMHO. If you think you may enjoy building something, do it! Don't be beholden to 1/8" difference in size compared to the rest of your collection. If you have convinced yourself that this is such an issue, then vote with your wallet. But don't make such inflammatory remarks about their competence.

I'm sure they're happy with their "competence" when people who usually build Japanese cars don't buy their kits. And the quality of Revell's and AMT's molding tells quite a lot about their competence, or lack of it

I view my remerks as constructive criticism, not arrogant rambling. And as you can see I am not the only one that feels the way i do.

And is doing something for 40 years reason enough to do it in the same way in the future? I don't know, but to me it's just common sense that ppl who model Japanese and European cars in 1/24 will want their collection to be in 1/24. And yes, if the marketing people don't understand that, I think they are incompetent. It is my opinion, and the 40 years of them making models will not change it.
