I have only a couple of ideas for you:
  1. If you don't have an airbrush you are screwed on toning down the chrome on the wheels which right now look too bright. I think I have a spare set of fujimi Daytona wheels from my build. If you consider moving away from wire wheels and want them, they are yours (if I can find them )
  2. In the engine bay, you might want to consider adding some plumbing to the brake servo and wiring to teh battery - if you are going to display with the hood open (as you say earlier) it might be worth the effort.
  3. The headlight covers look as if they would benefit form some panel line definition with some wash. What do you think? Maybe it's just the photo and my bad eyes!
  4. Was there really a cavallino on the rear of the Daytona? I am not sure.

Keep up the great work
Thanks Klutz for watching my work and taking the time to give me the advice.
- I think that I will figure out a way to downtone the wheels. Thanks for your offer. I save up this help until it is more needed. Thanks again.
- I´m not sure about the cavalinho. I saw it on latter US models and just like it like that. I know that it is not a 100% correct.
- The wash is a great idea. I definately will go for that, since I just saw the front pic and it looks awful as it is right now. And I might just take your WIP thread to improve the plumbing...

I will keep you updated...

Robert

Re: 60 years of Ferrari...WIP Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona

Now, I face a toughy, donīt know what wheels to choose. I would like to see your input on this issue.

First off, I have the PE-Set combined with the Kit-Revell-tires. LOtīs of work to put into making them fit into the wheel-arches. Pics:

Then I have the Fujimi Campagnolo-wheel-set. Check how much bigger the rear wheel is than the front wheel, although it just due to the bigger tires. Obviously, there is some work to do to get them into the wheel arches as well. I like the golden touch to them though.

So - what to do?? Which wheel set should I pick? Thanks for your input.

Robert

Re: 60 years of Ferrari...WIP Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona

pardon me...

but those wheel combinations still look TOO BIG on the car, i wonder why...
the rim sizes are ok, looks like you've gotta find another set of lower profile rubber in order to use those rims...
go ahead, try some other smaller tires & see the result.

ditch the original revell tires, only the dump trucks or fire engines can use them!

cheers!

Marc is right. Robert.

IMHO it would be a bad move to put EITHER of those sets of wheels/tires on this kit - they look waaaaay out of scale. The original Revel wheels will probably look better. Sorry

Apart form that, it's looking great and I'm glad to see you haven't forgotten it

Ditto, both sets are out of scale. Try getting the original Fujimi or Italeri wheels.

I have a spare set of Fujimi Borrani wheels if you are interested.

Re: 60 years of Ferrari...WIP Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona

I think I solved the wheel problem. I combined the 250TR-PE-Wheels with some Tamiya Jaguar-tires I found in my spre parts box. Now, some pictures and let me know what you think. I know that the front knock-offs are missing. These and the rear lights as well as the right wiper will be added when nothing else is to be done.

Again: Comments are very welcome.

And please, don´t feel aggrevated with me showing this many pictures.

Yes, those tires look right. She no longer has that 4X4 look. Nice looking build too.
