Re: Revell 1/24 Nazca BMW M12

Awesome, I just bought this kit a couple of weeks ago and I have a broken Tamiya 300ZX lying around as well! Must be fate! I'm following this closely!

Nice start. Keeping things clean will enhance the look at the end.

Thanx alot guys for your comments, keeps me carry on with this unusual italdesign car!

verminator, I intend to have them working but had to do a new layout for the hinges of the lift up roof sections.

Not much for an update but the most of the engine is done.

Completed the interior aswell. Some cleanup of things needed...

Frontend.

Rear milled subframe.

The whole chassis assembly.

Also, if someone here has some pics of the enginebay, firewall and some chassis pics Iīll be most gratefull. I had searched with no results.

Stunning build. I like how you build it - makes it so much more realistic. The weathering on the engine is just right.

Re: Revell 1/24 Nazca BMW M12

The build goes on in a slow but steady phase.

The headlights assembly has been stripped from chrome and painted.

Headlights in the shell. I painted the edges of the glass with Tamiya X-18 semigloss black for a more realistic finish.

This is how the chassis look like now. The front tires, witch came from a Tamiya Nissan 300 ZX kit, are cut to fit the smaller rim.

And then the screens. Polishing is a must to make them clear!

More later on.

Re: Revell 1/24 Nazca BMW M12

I've been watching your build for some time.
This is truly a work of art. Very detailed and very beautiful.

Nice touch with glass for the headlights. It looks very realistic !

What do you use to polish the screens ?

Re: Revell 1/24 Nazca BMW M12

huh! my M12 came with smoked glass. I like the clear though. fantastic job on the build overall. very crisp, and it appears you are paying attention to all of the finer details of the kit.

Re: Revell 1/24 Nazca BMW M12

Some update.

The interior is completed.

The rear window, right behind headrest, looked very toyish, so a bit of semigloss paint at the edges get it a more slimmed effect.

I also notice that the airducts, witch goes from the airfilterboxes to the inlets just before rearwheels, are missing in the kit. Easily done of a sprue and some copperwire wounded to replicate a flexible hose.

Not much left to complete her now. Still some work with the bodyshell.

The engine used in this model, BMW M70 V12, made me glance into another Revell kit with a similar engine. Itīs a Revell Premium BMW 850i and I had allready started that one of course but will start a separate thread about that model shortly.

This is looking absolutely nice. Great attention to details, I especially like the airducts.

Keep building like that!
