i used to keep track when they came around once i sprayed myself with stage blood and soaked my buddy with it and soaked a knife as well, when i opened the door they were non chalant about it till they saw my buddy in the hallway screaming bloddy murder i closed the door and smacked 2 pieces of wood to make it sound like gunshots. i opened up the door again and they all split. they called the cops but we told them we were making a horror movie and they caught us in the moment but he told us the girl that was with the group went into shock i felt bad after i found out about that

Interesting... I'm primarily an agnostic but familiar with the practice of Lent so...

Lent is primarily associated with catholicism and the practice of giving up something during the days between Ash Wednesday and Easter isn't necessarily one that is universal amongst Christians. Many folk may give up chocolate, meat, alcohol or some other item of personal reward or even may choose to give up time toward the community instead.

Historically, it was a period associated with fasting, repentence and considering ones own transgressions.

Lent isn't universal to all denominations indeed there are mant Christians who argue that the bible suggests that fasting is to be done in private rather than publicly displayed as some sort of badge. Lent is supposedly about penitence ie considering your own transgressions rather than pointing out the errors of others.

Sounds like another do-gooder with apparent ignorance of the core of the message about Lent - it's not about the fasting or abstinence from meat it's about seeing the error in your ways not others...

Mind you I was always a sh#@ stirrer when someone wanted a verbal exchange - it's always more fun when you beat someone senseless with blindingly simple logic or superior knowledge...

I was raised Catholic but haven't been to church in years. My dad is about to be an ordained Deacon. I'm familiar with Lent but it has become quite apparent that I don't participate in church matters. Giving up meat on Fridays during Lent is just one of the many hypocrasies of what the true meaning (as stated above) of this time. People no longer bother with telling me I'm going to hell, because I speak plainly that they should mind their own fucking business. People don't like when you speak to them as if they're not important when they think they are. When those religious thumpers come to my house, and I answer the door I swing it shut and say get off my property. Or, if my wife answers the door, she'll do the same thing and I'll say "who the fuck was that?" loud and on purpose after I realize who it was so they don't come back. It's worked so far. It is not in my practice to be rude to strangers; however, I strongly believe that religion is a personal matter and only an individual can truly come to their own decisions about what they believe. I am strongly against the pushing of one's hypocritical so-called Christian beliefs upon others.

Yeah, I run into people like that too. I let it all go in one ear and out the other. If they persist, I tell them I believe in Satan. That shuts them up REAL quick!! lol
