Re: Is this a good camera for the price?!?!? all help appreciated!

WTF!?! Both Best Buy and Ritz are no longer doing business with Kodak due to poor sales.

Are oyu kidding me that Kodak is a leader in digital!?! Even their film is a joke. Fuji is way better. Come on...Rite-Aid chain!?! Kodak is behind, being the Wal-Mart of digatal cameras. "Can't afford something nice, then get a Kodak!"

Sad to say, I'd take a Sony of a Kodak...although, not a Casio.

Not exactly what I read but I guess something like this...
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,159782,00.html
So it is Kodak Eastman that was only going to exit the film manufacturing industry. I must have mixed up the two

Do not ever buy a vivatar. I had one, the wife had one too, both of them ended up broken within 4-6 months. Pieces of crap when they were working too.

I work for Ritz and I know we talk tot he other stores, Best Buy and Circuit City. Which I think they're doing the same with Kodak.

Just go into a Ritz man, or even Bet Buy...they might have them. Ask about them.

Re: Is this a good camera for the price?!?!? all help appreciated!

yeah...

Well, also if you have a Ritz nearby, it's the same price in the store so no S&H. They dont have it online. It's only what's left in the stores. But it's not a bad camera for a franklin

Re: Is this a good camera for the price?!?!? all help appreciated!

I am no expert like most of these guys on here regarding digital cameras, but I like my Sony Cybershot. Sony's, in my experience, seem to have the fastest processing time (instant preview after pic is taking, and instant "surfing" of the memory card), and that's very important to an impatient git like myself I have used Vivitars, Cannons, Olympus, and Fuji, and out of all of these, the Sony was consistently quick at taking, storing, previewing and scrolling.

I have a tiny little 4.1 MP Sony DSC-P73 that I've had for a over two years. It's pretty decent for the basic amount of photography and mini-movies that I take, and the package comes with everything you need: batterires, a charger, and a memory stick. It is one of Sony's cheaper one's though (I got mine for $140 brand new), and you can find great deals on them on eBay and local sites like Craigslist. I highly recommend this digital camera for a person just starting out, it's a great started camera.

EDIT: Just saw you already got one. DOH moment.

Re: Is this a good camera for the price?!?!? all help appreciated!

Well, I see you chose a good camera for the money, but I didn;t notice before, that Vivatar had no zoom. It had digital zoom, but that's no different then after you open a pic on your computer and magnifying it.

For anyone else that looks at this OPTICAL ZOOM is the important one. Ignore digital or anything that says 18x zoom total. Only worry on the specs of OPTICAL ZOOM.
