I just installed a Skunk2 shifter with Skunk2 knob. I highly reccomend you buy yourself a good short shifter. The junk from pep boys is ok but still is junk. The skunk2 is counterwieghted and gives you one of the best feeling short shifters I have ever felt in a Honda. I would do the bushings like 4th gen has. That is next on my list. I paid 130 for both the knob and shifter. It took me 10 minutes to install it. If you want to know how to put in a shifter I guess I could run it down if you want.
-undo shift knob, shift boot and rubber dust cover underneath boot. - jack car up, get under and drop down the 2 nuts(12mm?) at the end of the shift linkage. - follow the shift linkage towards your tranny and undo the nut and bolt that holds it in place. At this point the shift rod and shifter should come out. (you may have to undo your exhaust if its in the way) - Undo the 2 10mm bolts that are left and replace your shifter. Adding grease where the "ball" is can help with smoothness if there isnt much grease left. Install is reverse of removal. If I left anything out someone correct me.

I got a DC sports short shifter, and I love it. It was relatively cheap, and the throw is a little less than half of the stock length. It took about an hour to put in, with my dad helping a little.

Short-throw shifter is an easy install, but I would recommend that you get yourself some urethane shifter bushings at the same time. I got a set of Energy Suspension bushings for $15 shipped, I think the Neuspeed ones are about the same price. Only took me about an hour and a half to get my shifter in, went like this:
- Remove shift knob, e-brake handle, center console. - Remove rubber dust-cap at base of OEM shifter. - Jack up the car. - Remove the two 12mm bolts from the back end of the stabilizer bar. - Remove the bolt from the front end of the stabilizer bar (up at the tranny). - Remove the bolt from the shifter linkage/shifter. - Remove the shifter from the stabilizer bar, should be two 10mm bolts. - swap the rubber dust seal from the stock shifter over to the short-shifter, as well as the plate that attaches the shifter to the stabilizer bar. - This is a good time to replace the bushings at the front and back ends of the stabilizer bar with urethane bushings. - Re-assemble everything in the reverse order...

Has anyone had a Neuspeed short shifter? I'm thinking about getting one because I heard it is a lot shorter than the rest. I found a place to get one for $100. Didn't think that was bad, because I know most places have the Neuspeed for about $130.

Just watch out on how short you go I made one out of the stock one after I took it out to put shorter one in. All went great but i Intalled it and now it is really hard to put in gear and it hits the bracket. It is now about 1/2" long after ball. hehe oh well hehe
