Hi - I dunno much about stereo systems, etc...but I am excited about better sounding speakers in my car

I have the same problem with my rear deck of my sedan...the torsion bars for the trunk lid only allow about a 2" deep top-mount speaker..What is MDF??? I have considered using things like a 3/4" - 1" thick white plastic cutting board as a spacer etc...and the old Kenwoods in my doors are about shot, so I will be replacing them soon.

What is MDF? Bracer...those spacers look great!
Thanks

DOHC ZC, I,H,E, urethane bushings and mount inserts, rock chipped hood, some rust, stock steelies, nice comfy Integra seats, and the A/C works! What else could you want from an 18 year old car with 241,000 miles? Working on getting the Si tranny in now

Medium density fiberboard. It's basically really well compressed partcle board. It's what many sub boxes are made of. Any dense material will work.

I think Bracer used MDF and covered it with duct tape so it looks pretty and stays dry.

Thanks sastanley
Yes I covered them in duct tape so the wood would stay dry. I didn't really care about looks because with the cover back on you can't see them.
