Re: I made a new friend... you're all going to like this guy

Awesome pics. Would have loved to see the Bugatti and the F1 circling the track at the same time. Is there any video??

Re. the tax, there are two types...import and registration. Both are very, very high in Singapore. The import tax is paid upon importation of the vehicle, regardless of whether it is registered or not. But, for businesses engaged in resale, there might be a break or grace period before it's due (although it's been there for a while now, hasn't it?). Dunno.

There's some video available on the Revlover's website.

Love the detail pictures of the contents of the GTR side lockers. Interesting the lightened front suspension top arm replacing the roadgoing cast item. Anyone know if the converted GTR's keep their air jacks?

Re: I made a new friend... you're all going to like this guy

07R definitely did keep them, saw it with my own eyes. I would think that 01R would also have them, to remain authentic. The others, converted for road use wouldn't really need them, but they would be a cool thing to have, I would think...it would be hard to tell without seeing the car from underneath, or really having a good peek inside the engine bay.

Even if the jacks are removed, the connectors would probably be kept simply to avoid having to replace the rear grill, so I don't think we can really tell from the pictures we have.

Mr. Bridger, your input would be greatly appreciated.

OMG, some of those are fantastic! Now I'm going to need some help cleaning the drool off my desk...

Wonder why they retained the parking brake? I never noticed it before, maybe I just never looked hard enough - but you would certainly never set the parking brake on a race car fresh from some hot laps.

The parking brake is a recent addition - it's been fitted to the car since it left Australia. Previously it had a blanking plate installed where the handle should have been.

Same with the headlights and taillights - both have been changed from what the car previously wore. Mr Bridger's #16R had the same change made to the taillamps during it's refit before going to Australia - possibly a change in the laws forced this - I don't know. David Clark's #06R still wears the flat '96-style GTR rear lamps though.

I didn't really notice any other changes to #13R, but I am sure there are a few that are not so obvious, all in the effort to make the car legal and more usable on the street.

Factoid that sounds very strange to the non-English....Brits are taught to engage their parking brake at every red light.

Here's another F1, this time in silver, seen at Shaefers....Could this be one of the 2 mystery cars?

Re: I made a new friend... you're all going to like this guy

Could be one of several cars - there have been plenty of silver F1s in Germany or neighboring countries through the years. Possibilities include, but are not limited to, chassis #001, BP crash car, #037, #038, #064, #068 and those are just the ones I can recall of the top of my head. It's a shame the flash is obscuring the plate or we might have some chance of narrowing it down.
