I want some too. You should figure out some prices for us so I know how much to spend on a new deck for the Monte.

Re: NOFX Rebuild Project (56K Warning)

Stainless line is skeet-skeet, but expensive. We got lucky once and found a whole bunch of brand new stainless line beside the road. It had flew out of the back of someone's truck or something. So we stopped and picked it up. It was enough to do the whole fuel system on my buddy's Nova.

Re: NOFX Rebuild Project (56K Warning)

So almost everything is complete. I am just waiting on a boot for 1 of the Axles to come in on thursday. I might be starting it up tomarrow and just let it run for a few minutes for the initial break in, and also to make sure nothing is leaking. All I got to say about putting everything back in is...Fuck the wire harness, That thing is ugly as all hell. I wish I had the time to go through and redo the whole thing and hide a lot of those wires. Oh well once I get another daily driver that will be something I can go back and do. I have a new custom catch can that is used on massive air compressors to catch oil and water out of the air. I am going test it and see how it goes. I will post pictures of it on here tomarrow. Man I am getting excited to start this thing up. It seems like forever since I have driven my car. I dont know how a lot of you guys have gone so long.

Re: NOFX Rebuild Project (56K Warning)

Very nice, your bay is very clean. Your progress makes me want to just fuckin get mine done!

If you sell off some of that SS line, I would like some too. Let me know if you can/will.

Re: NOFX Rebuild Project (56K Warning)

Alright...UPDATE TIME...

I got the car started up this past thursday. It ran like a champ, Until I had no power. It took me a little while to figure it out but we figured out that the alternator was bad. So I went and picked one up on friday and got it installed. The car runs fantastic. It sounds better than I imagined, and the tranny shifts much smoother than I thought it would while it breaks in. So here are some more pictures for all of you guys to enjoy.

First here are a couple pictures of my new little catch can

Here is a pic of the catch can installed in the car

Here is a pic of the engine bay after everything was installed

Here is my friend Danny in front of the car. I owe this guy a ton. He pretty much built the entire car while I sat back and watched and learned. I did learn a ton though and feel confident I could do most of it next time.

Then here I am in front of the car

So after the start up there were just a couple leaks here and there that just needed some tightening. I am having a problem though. After the car has warmed up, when I push in the clutch my RPM's drop and so if I am at an idle then the car dies. I am pretty stumped on it right now. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Re: NOFX Rebuild Project (56K Warning)

So when you push in the clutch pedal the car kills, but only when it's idling? Am I getting that right?

Re: NOFX Rebuild Project (56K Warning)

he says rpms drop. and at idle there so low it cuts off. but i think 600-700 is to low of an idle anyways. i couldnt tell you why idle drop when you push in the clutch, mabey same reason idle rises when turning the wheel??? lol

Re: NOFX Rebuild Project (56K Warning)

In simple terms, idle rises when turning the wheel because when you turn the wheel, you put more of a load on the power steering pump, which puts more of a load on the motor through the accessory belt (nt cars) and the engine has to compensate for that load by increasing the rpms.

Re: NOFX Rebuild Project (56K Warning)

Yes the car dies when I push in the clutch because the rpms drop for some reason. I noticed today that it died a couple times just coming down from a higher rpm. I was at like 5k and then I let off and the rpms dropped pretty fast and then it dropped right past where it was supposed to idle and then died. Sometimes I can catch it with a quick little rev but not all the time.

Re: NOFX Rebuild Project (56K Warning)

Sounds like the exact same thing that happened to me when I blew a hole in my IC pipes.
