What's everyone think of the X-Type?

i looked at one in the flesh yesterday... and i'm seriously considering selling the 328ci and getting an X-Type, i thought it looked sweet. plus it has more power, more luxury features, with the stick.... oh it's heaven

i like the Audi and BMWs better

Unfortunely, you have to clean the inside of the tires every 3 weeks or so in the winter. If you dont, they get unbalanced and: a) warp the brake rotors

So the X should have better quality.

My sister has a Grand Am GT V6 RamAir, the car is great; great styling, great performance, great value.

1)Jaguar X type
2)BMW 3-series
3)Mercedes C-Class
4)Lexus IS300
I don´t care if it is the Sport or the regular X type, I love´em both!

I like it, too. It is a affordable Jaguar. Besides, it is not slow. From CAR magazine (UK) a Jaguar X-Type 3.0 runs 6.6 sec from 0-62 mph and it is sold for about $ 36000 which is cheaper than a EVO VII and WRX !

With its 2.5 X type, it runs about 7.6 sec.

I think the X-Type is somewhat lacking against it's competition, being a luxury Ford Mondeo doesn't help matters much either

Wheter it´s based on the Ford Mondeo or not, it´s a kick ass sedan. Speaking of wich the Mondeo will make its debut in US as Mercury any time now.

I hope so, that Mondeo is pretty sweet looking. Don't a lot of cars now come with the Auto Headlights? My car does.

Good to see that you Yanks will get the Mondeo after all, in NZ it is a hot contender for best seller (It is even taking buyers from the popular Falcons, the Mondeos big seller status is what kind of puts me off the X-Type.

that pretty much reflects what ive read/seen about it. 3-series has it licked , someone said they were considering selling their 328Ci to get an X-type, that would be a dreadful mistake. A4 and IS have it beat too.

oh yeah... almost forgot... the entry level X-type is going to be FWD. FWD!!!!!! does that suck or does that suck! it demeans the whole jaguar range if you ask me. thats when it stops being a car related to the mondeo and simply becomes a mondeo in a nicer suit (which i dont think is that nice, the styling actually sucks IMO)

That X type sure looks good. I think it compits better with a Mercedes C-Class than a 3 series, because its bigger and luxurious, but not as sporty as the BMW, well it does looks a bit Sport anyways. Its a Jaguar, so it´s obvious that it has to be a great car and more exclusive than its competition, wheter or not its based on the Mondeo, whats the problem with it? The Mondeo is a great car, developed in Europe and better than exhausted Camrys and Accords, and some of you shouldn´t make an opinion about the car specially if you don´t know anything about it because you don´t have it in your country (Mondeo) .
