well no, the H23 is non-VTEC and the H22 is VTEC and has 200h.p and the H23 has 160h.p around there...

s is just the base model. it most likly has has an f22 under ther hood. it is a single over head cam with 140 horse. respectable. there r plenty of mod you can do engine swap wise. i have an h23 which is 160 stock. but has more than that.

If you want good H22A-Vtec engines try Nippon Motors, I bought mine for $1200 engineonly complete.

A JDM H22 is not a bad option, nor is it expensive. Osaka motors can get them for around 2G's, now. I'd go this way, and go N/A w/ it... or lower the compression ratio and turbo it.

yo slick 96, its not a good idea to go turbo on that motor because its made for N/A. i would rather go B18 or B16 or B20 for turbo or an LS motor. which those already have lower compression. the B20 and LS have awesome torque! those are nicknamed the TORQUE MONSTERS!
