Re: Ligier Mugen Honda JS40 BBR 1/43
I dig into net again to check out this Js40 vs JS41 issue. It seems that it is a mistake as Ligier jumped from JS39B (Renault) to JS41 (Mugen Honda). Shame on me that I have not checked that properly...

Re: Ligier Mugen Honda JS40 BBR 1/43
Really nice start 1/43 sure is intimidating with all those small parts I like the look of the rims.

Re: Ligier Mugen Honda JS40 BBR 1/43
Small update:
Front suspension dry fitted, brake disks and air intakes glued together. It is quite tricky to bend but not destroy PE parts. I use Tamiya bending tool. It took me about hour an a half to bend and glue that in the desired shape. I did touch-ups to the body as well. When I bend and dry fitt rear suspension I am going to paint main body. Here is a pic of front suspension ![]() Regards |

Re: Ligier Mugen Honda JS40 BBR 1/43
Thanks
Doing my best. I have noticed (and you may) that some of the details are out of scale. Anyways, I treat this model rather like a training so hopefully next one will be much more accurate. Last edited by Macio4ever; 01-14-2007 at 04:38 PM. |

Re: Ligier Mugen Honda JS40 BBR 1/43
I can imagine how tiny those brake air-intakes are! In that case I can imagine how difficult are the bending works going to be. Terrific works! Hope one day i can have the courage to put my hands on 1/43 models!

Re: Ligier Mugen Honda JS40 BBR 1/43
After a long, long brake I have made some progress...
I have painted body with Tamiya Royal Blue according to manual. It came out a bit too dark IMHO but I decided to leave as it is. Suspension is painted as well. So I hope that I will make more progress (and pics) soon. Some other hints and thoughts from my build: 1) It is better to drill 0,7 mm holes for suspension instead of 0,6 suggested in manual. It is much easier to mount suspension... 2) Decals are very good - they lay down easy with Gunze Setter/Softer 3) 5 minute Epoxy sticks better than CA even though I cleaned up all parts with sand paper and IPA That's it for the moment, here come some pics: ![]() |

Re: Ligier Mugen Honda JS40 BBR 1/43
Hi Macio,
Coming together nicely. I'd agree with you that it is a touch on the dark side but not so that I would worry about fixing it ![]() The similarity between this car and the Benetton B195 is really becoming obvious... no wonder there was such a controvesy back then. Keep up the good work, Bill |

Re: Ligier Mugen Honda JS41 BBR 1/43
Looking great so far Macio. I've always been a fan of Ligier, then Prost, Blue. Maybe photographing the car ouside with reflections from the light blue sky will make the colour look right?
Anyway in 1995 the Ligier was known as the Dark Blue Benetton so dark is just fine. Then from 1998 onward we had the Red Benetton, but that's another story...P.S. I've changed the thread title to JS41. |
