Re: I've finally come to a decision...

I am gonna guess and say a Lancer Evo 8,but I am not sure about fuel economy.A Subbie would have been my second guess, after all they are great cars my brother has a sub GL non-t Fwd Wagon and he loves it.

Re: I've finally come to a decision...

Hey I just got home from work and breaking up with the girl guys... Its an 03 WRX... I gotta convince dad to also go for the co-sign and I'm home free.

**EDIT**
So anyways, Mike tried to ruin the surprise but he forgot I have mod power. hehe...

So yeah, I have been lookin and lookin and found this one and was amazed at the price comparison compared to an Evo. I gave everything the run down in comparison and I really wanted to go with this one STi I found, but it woulda bumped the price up to about 21k and I can't swing that. This one I'm lookin at is an 03, silver, 60k miles, and already built up. Hehe... Thats my favorite part and its only goin for about 15k... Not too bad I thought.

**EDIT 2**
Opps, heres the link.

Re: I've finally come to a decision...

I don't know how reliable subaru's are when modded, but if I was you and had the Talon built to hell (well, I am in your shoes, kinda ), I would definitely not get another modded car, even if it was an Evo or something meant to be modded, why would you want another one? It's just more shit to break man, that's my opinion. If I was you, find a nice cheap one that's bone stock, maybe exhaust and intake at most.

Re: I've finally come to a decision...

Never know with people though. They may have paid full retail price and labor for installation on all their shit, so in reality that 8k only got stretched a little ways, and it might not even be all performance. Some one that really knew what they were talking about and did it themselves, they woulda rattled that shit off. My guess is the rims and tires were a tad over a grand, it looks lowered and that stuff plus isntallation would total up there too. A brand name full exhaust could run you well over a grand installed too, and you never know what they consider performance. A full stock brake job could be like $500-$800 (I was quoted $300 IIRC for pads and disks for just the front on the cavy ) or more and they might call that performance. Also, looks like it has a valence kit to me, paint and instal on that would definately tak a toll on the pocket book. I bet its a lightly modded WRX and the guy/girl selling has no fucking clue what went down with regards to that cars performance.

Re: I've finally come to a decision...

+1...

Niiice car though... and keep the daily as stock as possible... it would be more reliable that way...

I'm entertaining the idea of picking up a '99 GST for my stock (nicer than my project car)

Ooooo more details if possible. I completely forgot about us both going to the same track here. lol Yeah, the guys is up by Tallmadge here so I'm sure he comes down to Quakers track...

As for the modding, I don't have any plans to mod it at all because I want it to be a reliable DD. If theres a few things done to it already then I won't mind too much. I just don't wanna find out that its been beat to all hell at the track... In reality 14k is pretty cheap for a WRX around here. Not a car that you see very often at all...

I talked to dad this morning then and he has no problem co-signing for me to get a loan for a new car. But... lol Theres always that "but" factor... The only way he will co-sign is if I draw up some spreadsheets of comparison of it to other competitor cars with all the specs and such along with a spreadsheet of my finances to show him I can actually afford this. Trust me, I'll have no problem making a 300$ a month car payment when I have practically no other bills now...
