1. TE37 volks - I am wondering the TE37 comes with the Aoshima Cappacino is 17" or 18"? are they using Fujimi products or Aoshima produces by themselves?
2. Advan RG - similar question on this, are Aoshima using Fujimi products or Aoshima produces by themselves? 17" or 18"? any actually photo or can someone measure the diameter for me? it seems the JunAuto prelude kit is the same as the Fujimi Prelude. (i.e. I built the Fujimi few years ago, and the manual on hobbysearch looks familar to me.
1. They're more like 15 in. It's very small, and only good on K-cars or some 1/25 scale kit. Adding two TE37 from Fujimi, there are three sizes total.
2. Hobby Search manual clearly shows that they are completely different. There are no sharing between them, as both are still in business.
Here's Aoshima Advan RG

It's 20.5 mm, so it's 19.37 inch scale size.

Aoshima's Model 5 is sharper, but slightly smaller than Fujimi's.

It's also 20.5 mm or 19.37 inch scale size.

the Aoshima AVS does look a lot better defined than the Fujimi but I like the size of the Fujimi (fills the 350Z guards nicely)

thanks hirofkd for the info.

BTW, I had chance to ask the model shop to open the Fujimi Advan RG to measure today, and the size is 17.9mm.

This is the rare case where the Fujimi rim looks better than the Aoshima rim. The Aoshima rim is sharper in detail, but the finish/appearance of the Fujimi version just looks perfect. And I thought you couldn't get much better than the AVS from Aoshima...let's hope Fujimi does more of these kinds of "proper sized" and nicely styled wheels.

I'm using the Aoshima AVS 5's on my Fujimi F355...I haven't tried the Fujimi rims on it yet, I'm using trim rings to make the rears wider and I have to adjust the rear suspension for track width. I better check the Fujimi rims, maybe they'll work better and require less monkeying w/the suspension.

What are some of the 16" or 15" wheels out there? I wanna buy a set of fujimi or aoshima wheels but I'm afraid they'll be too big and I don't want huge rims, HLJ does'nt say the size and I want some 16's

I have a set of Enkei ES Tarmac wheels from a MR-S that appear to be 16" I'll get a pic for you compared to an 18"wheel.

question...

is it the concensus that fujimi 17 inch wheels are just too small on a scale model? i just bought the enkei rp-f1 wheels from hlj. didn't know they were 17 inchers... from the box, they look great on the actual greddy rx7. it was meant for an rx7 i have but the tires are just way too thick. any comments on wheels this size or does everyone here just more or less stay away from 17 inchers completely?

Basically, Fujimi SUCKS!!! They fool us by giving us great box art but screw us on the contents! I think some cars look ok with 17" wheels and have a few sets myself but I prefer Aoshima when it comes to 18" wheels. Every once in a rare while, Fujimi gets it right like with their Advan Model 5s as seen on SpoonManDos' recently completed Supra; Fujimi's version actually looks better than Aoshima's version of the same wheel!
