I REALLY REALLY hate to bring this back up. I didn't even know this thread existed, but reading it all I have to reply. I see everybody's point, but I'm afraid I have to side with Rob. I understand addiction. But whether this guy was upset about his addiction or not, the fact that he had this addiction should at least temporarily strike out his status as a role model. He obviously seemed to hate his addiction...I can't see him wanting anyone to envy his position. Anyway, his attempts to quit were noble...and we shouldn't concentrate on his flaw, rather his good points. Seriously though, you should hate the fact that he was a druggie if you want to make him a role model...if he got help for his problem, then he hated it too. Maybe you should make it clear that you despise his flaws before you idolize him.

BTW...I love Sublime

My mind doesn't say "You know, Brad did a lot of drugs...and I love him for it!". NO! I hate that he had to die that way, and I wish he was still alive writing the greatest music in the world...but, I feel that he needs to be remembered, and by getting them on TRL, maybe it'll do that and maybe some kids doing some drugs might see some consequences.

I never met Brad. I wish I could have. I have seen the other guys in the band (Eric Wilson and Bud Gaugh) at a LBDAS concert.

RIP, Brad.

Sublime had some of the best stuff. I wish Brad was still around so I could see them live. Brings a tear to my eye whenever I think about it. Such great talent....gone.

RIP Brad

Matt...do you listen to LBDAS? I saw them in concert, and they reminded me so much of Sublime. Check 'em out.
