actually yes... JG is working on one. it makes more power by revving higher than the stock H22 bottom end. the rod/stroke ratio of the H22 prevents it's ability to rev too much higher than stock without extensive modification... read:expensive modification. destroking can square it up for better revability and increase it's power thru higher rpm. |

and to add one final note for ya, fritz...
F20C 2 litres of displacement, 240HP, 9000rpm redline. easier to rev due to better rod/stroke ratio, no extreme massaging necessary. pure high rpm performance to milk more power... hence the job JG is working on to milk more power from the H22A. but to get full 2.2 litres of displacement by squaring it up without losing displacement... would that be possible for not too much? |

Ahhh - increased redline. Of course. (duh!
)You said the R/S ratio made it "slow revving" which totally threw me off track for some reason, "low redline" would have made more sense to me. ![]() I'm sure you could probably overbore the F20 a tiny bit at least, but I really don't know what the internal dimensions look like. Too much and you'd weaken the sleeves; although you could probably post them. If anyone makes oversized sleeves, you could go that way (with a lot of machine work on the block) and a little head massage (and very expensive, custom pistons). Probably a good .060 overbore with ease. Do you have the bore, stroke, and rod figures for the F20? I haven't ever seen them.

Hey guys don't you know, Honda does make a destroked h22a. It's called the f20b, the jdm accord sir-t comes with it. It has 200hp and a pretty blue valve cover. LOL

kinda... it's an F block, and the parts are incompatible except for the valve covers. correct theory, completely different motors. as for their power output, it's 180ps, about 175HP. |

The sir-t has 200ps, sorry put hp before the auto is 180ps. I thought I read somewhere that it was the same block. I know it's an f block but well shit I don't know. LOL Didn't pay any attention to the block code just read it was a destroked H22a.

Well, the H22A does fit in Hatchbacks, there was a guy on another board that put an h22a into his 93 (i think) hatch, and it ran 13.01 i think.

I have been to a few sites, streetimports.com being one of them, and they sell mount kits for 96-00 civics and they say the H22 will fit in with a mounting kit, one of you said the H22 won't fit into the civic, is this true for the later model civic or is this the case for all of them?
