Re: Salvage Title Questions...
HAGGLE, no matter what... the person will give somewhat... even if it says firm... point out the flaws and possible repair amounts... you can talk them down a reasonable amount (especially on that Talon)

Re: Salvage Title Questions...
I would stay AWAY from a German car without a warranty, period (if you dont have an above average income). Trust me on this one.
Yes, it's no secret that these cars are luxurious, a dream to drive, and have a huge sex appeal, but once they start breaking down, they'll make the DSM trouble youve had look like a joke, cost-wise. It's the little stuff that will drain the bank. You will have lights, guages, power windows, ECUs, etc, blowing up on you an a basis that is so regular it'll confuse the hell out of you and make you wonder. Whatever you do , do not buy an old German car! As for a reliable driver, we've talked about this before, get yourself an NT 3000GT. I love mine so much: '93 155,000, 5-sp, and still going good. You can pick up a 1G for cheap. Last edited by Shpyder; 11-15-2006 at 07:55 PM. |

Re: Salvage Title Questions...
And they are sexy too. You could always pull a me and get a Cavalier. I got mine (2001 white, 5 spd) when it was 2.5 years old and had 14k miles for $5500. Granted they have gone up in price but you still should be able to get a basically new one for around 8k.

Re: Salvage Title Questions...
I got my 2002 black 4dr cavalier for $3500, 2 yrs ago with 55K mls on it. So far it has been realiable as hell and takes my constant (emphasis on the word constant) beating with no problem. VERY reliable and cheap car to maintain.
As for me I am trying to sell my talon and once thats gone I'll be looking for a e46 BMW 3series coupe. Cant WAIT!

Re: Salvage Title Questions...
If you want a nice DD, get a Monte Carlo. I have a 01 Monte just for a summer DD and I must say, it's a pretty good, versatile car. It's not too big, but not too small, decent gas mileage, they look pretty nice IMO, aren't too spendy, and when I do drive it in the snow, it's a good car in the snow too. There's nothing really to complain about.

Re: Salvage Title Questions...
Hmmm... I'm not sure what the hell to do now. I have some other stuff going on right now that just came up today and I am gonna be holding off on a new car for a while...
