Re: WIP - Ford GT40 P1075 restortion

Mikusen,

looking forward to more updates of this but just one quick question - I was wondering why you added the PE rings to the seats if the rings and holes were already there? Seems like a lot of work, maybe post one of your reference pictures to show us why.

Thank you Sean

Yes, the original seat had already holes onto it but in order to have the appearence like the picture attached, I have decided to fit in those holes with PE rings.
However, the internal diameter of the rings is still small. May be using thin metal pipes to fit into those holes would look better.

Re: WIP - Ford GT40 P1075 restortion

Chapter 3: Engine bay

In order to rebuild the engine bay, some modification to the base plate and rebuild by plastic sheet. The parts like oil pump, lubricant oil tank, suspension mount is from HRM transkit.

For the front part, the original part was cut away and rebuild the frame work.

The original support for the front cover was redone by plastic strip as well.

For the raised part on the roof, I have them scratch built by using plastic sheet and cut them into the required shape and placed over the top of the doors.

Happy Modelling !!!

Mikusen

Chapter 4: Paint and stick

Finally, got the body parts painted with Finisher's Gulf blue but the colour seems a bit darker even on the Foundation white. No worries! It seems good to me

After drying in the box over night, I started to stick decals onto the body. Since the original decal within the box is too yellow, I have ordered one from LMM and the decals are so good.

Done :em47:

It is ready for clear coat !!

Happy Modelling

Mikusen

ah I see! :-)

Beautiful work and a stunning looking model, let us all see a couple of close up pictures of your painted engine and interior before you complete this. A perfect version of this classic car. Great Job Mikusen
