i find it helps to know someone.
like it or not, nepotism is usually the way to go, even if it is just another ground level grunt, any recommendation is better than none.

Thats how I got all my good jobs. The one job I got without an in was my shatty movie gallery customer service job

Once you're in the door, your work ethic should speak for itself (assuming you have one and they'll be happy to keep/promote you)

If you really need to get a check asap, go to a temp agency and do random spots til you can find a steady gig.

it does suck when u have filled out online apps and go in and check up on them but they say its already filled, cause i filled one out for tractor supply company due to they want <so they say!> somebody who knows what they are doing but later i got a letter from them stating im not qualified, but i know i was more qualified than anyone else and all they did was hire someone else who dont know shit!<pardon my french>

hmmm, it just seems like there isnt even a single open job here in nashua, all these places have signs up for hire but no answers when i go in, no one knows what the hells going on anymore......
