Ami I thought you have had a ZC? Your website says....

"The ZC engine came stock in the Si's in Japan. With 135hp on tap a 4th gen will scoot the 1/4 mile in the 15's with basic mods. This engine is a direct bolt on. You will want to change the ECU to a Integra ECU and the best bet is to have a SI trans. I personally have a ZC in my Civic HB and Im very happy with it. The ZC has a bad rap as being an engine that breaks down but I dont think that is the case at all, with all used engines you take risks. I think the ZC has plenty of power, you may not be able to beat a B16a 4th Gen but you can give most imports a run for the money with this engine."

Drop shop seems to think the SOHC vtec is a better engine and I know he has had both ..... B series is great I would love to have one but I am not planning on running anything better than low to high 13s... SOHC VTEC is cheap, realiable, easy to work on, has massive aftermarket support, you can usually find one with mods already, IE header, intake, spark plugs and wires....., and best of all it is a direct swap putting out 125-132hp and 105 torque..

Yo Dude - I think that is what Eric (CWBETB) wrote when he was running the site, before her turned it over to the Honda-holic

This is what Ami said since I think she is friends with the dropshop guy.

This is a very interesting discussion....I have a ZC, have it 85% rebuilt and plan to use it, HOWEVER, if I were to start this process again, I think I would very seriously consider doing what Ami did, and find a wrecked late 90's Civic and pull the d16y8 out of it.

DOHC ZC, I,H,E, urethane bushings and mount inserts, rock chipped hood, some rust, stock steelies, nice comfy Integra seats, and the A/C works! What else could you want from an 18 year old car with 241,000 miles? Working on getting the Si tranny in now

What problems have you had with the ZC because I am 90% positive I will go with the SOHC VTEC but a small part of me wants the DOHC..

the engine info on the site is all the info that was there before me. i am slowly going through and updating all the sections with newer info. i plan to finish the how-to's after the car show this weekend and then get to the engine section.

LOL, i said "now, gunnmen and I have BOTH done the sohc vtec". i had considered the ZC. i actually didn't realize how easy the sohc vtec was to drop in. dropshop told me to quit being a whimp and just do it. and it was pretty easy.

you must have gotten confused when i said travis_118 has a ZC...ask him how easy it was to swap in.

Yeah, and your point? This guy arrived like 3 days ago. so how does he have a feeling for what goes on in this forum? You make a whole lot more posts than I do AMI, if I posted as much as you do I would have just as many as you if not close. I remember first reading this board and seeing how many posts you had. it wasnt too many. 200 or so if I believe. And I dont like your car so bring your VTEC over, I invite all variable valve crap control, especially those of the SOHC variety.:bonghitte

no, the question is, what is your point? trying to step to me like i'm some newbie get over yourself man. my post number isn't shit. why? because when i switched over i started at [b]0[b]. i didn't have my post numbers switched over from PH or HB like everyone else. if you came around when i only had 200 that means you haven't been here more than 2 minutes more than the person you were trying to play god over.

don't hate on vtec because you have nothing better to contribute to the conversation. come back when you have a REAL ef, son...

people with 1 post or 849673957639575957476 posts has the same right to post up in here with their opinion. you don't like it, then you don't have to post.

and i could care less if you don't like my car.... :bonghitte go ahead and keep your crack to yourself

Angry .....

EFSLEEPER, what do you have up your ass? Is anybody supporting what you have said? No. Why because you are being a prick and none of us appreciate it. You may have issues with your man hood and think you have to be belligerent and ignorant when you disagree with something but that isn't a reason to get your panties in a bunch and insult the rest of us. Who cares how many posts you have? Everyone here has a main interest and that is our 4th gen civics and sister cars 2nd gen CRXs. If you want to keep running your mouth go ahead and do it but do it on your own time and alone so nobody has to listen to it. Almost everyone here is just trying to share information and get together with others that have a common interest. Newbies and their questions are welcome and appreciated. And your comment on the age of the users in this forum just shows how immature you really are. If you are older than those classified in your group of idiots you are just undermining your own comments. On another note don't screw with ami because everyone has her back. The knowledge she posesses combined with the manor in which she presents it is vastly superior to yours so I would bite my tongue if you have any other negativity to spread.

I got more posts than most everyone in the 88-91 forum (cept maybe ci5ic and kbslacker) so what now?

Personally I would rather go ZC just because I think DOHC is pretty cool. Right now I have the SOHC ZC in my car which came with it, so its pretty tight. What do you got anyway?
