I'm not a real big fan of camaro's, but from a totally objective point of view, I would have to say you made the right choice. I mean, 26 large sounds REALLY steep for a celica. I mean my car new was 25 large and it came with 42 more horsepower, 2 more doors, room for 3 more chicks and so on. Considering your car would run circles around a celica GT-S action, I would say you made the right choice.

Also, the fact that I have no regrets and love my car to death is an added bonus

They make an Altima SE-R? Damn you NSX, now I have another project to get started on... Turbo 240, to really rub it in!

ok the lesson of today.

Nissan makes many trims of their cars. for example,
the sentra comes in gxe=base model, se=sport edition (usually has spoiler and more option) and se-r= this has the skyline style body. the se-r comes in two models: their basic se-r and the se-r v spec. The v-spec has a lot of balls. It has a 170 hp engine with 180-190ft/lbs of torque. Thats the sentra.

the altima is the next car in nissan's line-up. base model is a 2.5 litre. then there is the 2.5s, which has more options. And finally there is the 3.5 SE (se means sports edition). this car has 240 hp, with 222ft/lbs of torque(I think).

and now the flagship......maxima. three basic models also, gxe=base,se=sports edtion, and gle=luxury edition. the 03' produces 255 hp out of its 3.5 VQ35DE engine. this is the same engine used for the 350Z.

but for me i have a 98, so im stuck with a 190hp,205ft/lbs engine. i dont mind though cuz pretty soon il be supercharged and putting 260 at my wheels . ill be classy yet fast.

Holly cow the GTS with the action package costs 26K. That is a rip-off. The new 350z is suposed to start at that price and that would murder a GTS so bad it woud not even be funny.

i dunno if thats what markup was or what, but 26k is too goddamn much for a celica. Ive seen 2000 audi S4s for around that. you could get a used S2000 for that. all of these would rape a GTS

You could buy a lot of cars that would give it in the ass to a celica GTS. WRX, new maxima, new altima, fully equipped 'stang GT, bare bones new 350Z, a used mercedes C36 or C43......the list goes on.

You (used to be able to anyways) buy a new bone stock Z28 with the basics for 23-24 grand. and yes, my friends gt-s was 25 grand and some change, loaded. purty steep indeed for what it is....4cyl. FWD car that cant break out of the 15's stock. The autos actually run a 16.1 in the quarter by the way. My friends had the "auto-stick" (automatic with the push-button gear selection option) purty cool, but still not worth the $$$

bobo you sound stupid

I hardly ever have to rev my engine up off the line but I still can launch off at close to 3000rpm in first gear and I can red line going into second and/or third gear in an automatic. I to have a co worker at one of my jobs that wants to race and he has a 02 Celica. The last time we tried to race it was in a mall parking lot and it was a terrible place to race since the mall had just closed and we had to watch out for cars and pedestrians not along security, but I will say that during the short race the Celica did pretty good, but at the same time one of the other co-workers had a race between a Ford Mustang V-6, Ford Lightening, and a Celica the Celica was left way behind and the Lightening only won because he used his NOS and I know my Max can whoop a V-6 Mustang with a car load of people and a full sound system because I did it.
