Those are traffic offenses? Were you doing burnouts at a stoplight or something?

Re: Speeding Ticket

That is what they went down as lol. The excessive torque was when I was young and dumb and thought it would be a good idea to show an Explorer its place with my 5 spd Dodge Ram. Well I gave it to much gas and basically dumped the clutch being a n00b at it and spun my tires for quite some time. Sure enough I was pulled over for it and yeah, it was a traffic ticket.

My spilling of a load and impeding traffic happend when I was the only legal US citizen on my work crew therefore I was the only one with a license to drive. Well one of those retards didn't strap a wheel-barrel down tight enough and came off causing a three car pile up. Since I was the only one who could drive legaly, I was stuck with both tickets along with the points off of my license. To this day I can not express my hate enough for that crew....

And it goes far beyond that incident.

Re: Speeding Ticket

excessive torque? that's a strange way of wording it. my buddy got ticketed for doing a burnout at a light and it was for an "unsafe start".

also if you got ticketed while on the clock shouldn't that go against your employers insurance and not your own?

Re: Speeding Ticket

Insurance? Yes, it did go towards my landscaping companies insurance. However, the Sheriff that wrote the ticket said the points would still be taken off of my license.

And yes, that is exactly how it is worded here in the State on Nebraska...."excessive torque"..lol

Re: Speeding Ticket

Sometimes police jargain is great. My friend got a ticket for taking off to beat somebody from a stoplight. The cop pulled him over, we had seatbelts on. He wrote a ticket for "Excessive Display of Speed". My friend looked at it and said "Excessive display of speed? Sir, this is an Escort, it has no speed!"

Why, Plea not guilty, you'll talk to the D/A dude or whatever and he'll probably plea it down to something stupid like a parking ticket or something. Unless it's DUI or DWI you can plea down.

If you can talk to the cop then do it. Believe it or not, cops can be alright guys and they don't always wanna screw everybody over. In Chicago, we can't talk to the cops after they've pulled us over, but a lot of times they don't even bother showing up to court and the case is thrown out.

Re: Speeding Ticket

The way I got my ticket reduced (in points) was to go into the prosecuting attorney for these traffic violations and if you have a fairly clean record then you may very well get it reduced in some way or another.

Re: Speeding Ticket

OK, my court date is Monday night, the 30th. So, I just plea not guilty and before the trial, talk to the officer? what do i say, that i'm sorry? I've never set foot in a court room, I have no idea how this is going to work.

Talk to the district attorney or prosectuing attorney. If you talk to the officer you'll probably be in more trouble then you were before.
