i can definitely hear it, but i dun feel it, like i did when drove a lude. all i have is an injen cai in my 99 ex coupe. you many want to try installing a vtec light. i have one, and its pretty cool, my shit kicks in at about 5600rpm. but if you dun hear it, you may want to have it checked by honda, cause i think u should hear it.

I have a 94 EX and once it gets to like 5000 RPMs you can feel the vtec kick in. It's not a very powerful engine but you can definately feel the difference once the vtec kicks in. so if you cant feel it then you are a douche.

I just got a 92 Civic Hatchback Si a couple weeks ago... I was kinda concerned myself about the engine as I couldn't really feel the VTEC kick in that much either. Is it 4800 rpm that it kicks in? I drove a 95 Prelude SR-V and THAT you can definitely feel.

I was kinda concerned because the redline on my tach is showing 6400 rpm. I checked under the hood and it is indeed a D16Z6 engine, SOHC VTEC. Everywhere I look it up the redline of this engine should be 7200 rpm... The car is from Quebec, Canada so I'm not sure if their instrumentation or tuning was any different, and I don't know why it should be...

Any ideas?

Graydon

Then you must have the wrong gauge cluster. See if the engine goes past the redline mark on the gauge cluster. Mine shows that it redlines at 7200 on the tach. I hear VTEC turn on when I am driving my car and I feel a diffrence. Look at my mods though.
