Re: Good makes and models?

hmm, os at about what speed can you really start feeling a turbocharger kicking in about, from a dead stop to flooring it? I know it all depends on your cars weight, hp, and torque, but about on average. I'm debating on getting a supercharger or a turbocharger, and if the lag of the turbocharger is too long, and is not worth it, then I'll stick with the supercharger. As I mentioned, I'll probably try buying a really light car, and put as powerful engine as what will fit in there, and am mainly going for a much higher acceleration for the first 100 meters. Any advice?

Nope. She is all motor.
If you correct the 12.32 for the density altitude that day it is a 10.7x.

Fastest I have had the car is 130-135 MPH. I am not a fan of top speed or even going all that fast. I LOVE acceleration though. I don't take the car over what it traps in the 1/4 mile.

Re: Good makes and models?

Just get a busa and turbo it. It will be kinda fast.

my advice to you is first learn how to type. i don't even understand what most of your posts are saying. You need to learn more about cars before you think about buying one. Go and read all the posts in this section and the other racing sections and you will see this has been ask before.

good luck.

Isn't that like...sixty feet give or take? I suck with the metric system beyond literage. Anyways, just take your car and pull out the regular motor, and drop in a Lightning Motor.

Re: Good makes and models?

haha, sorry about typing badly. I'm actually typing with one hand for now because I have a broken wrist and a cast and all that fun junk. And I've already gone around quite a bit and read up about most of the parts and how they work. Like I know that turbochargers are more often more efficient, mainly because they get powered by the exhaust, so it takes very little power to charge them, just the exhaustion's resistance. And like you Luos, I'm ALL for acceleration. I've just never EXPERIENCED the feel of a turbocharger or supercharger, at least before I did my research about them and knew what they were. And I know superchargers give off more power at lower rpms than turbos, I have no problem there. I've just not experienced or read exactly WHEN the kick of the turbocharger hits. If it really starts hitting much later, then I'd be more interested in a super. I just want the best time possible for 100m (roughly 300 feet or one football field). And I was thinking abotu dropping a lightning engine in my f150, but i'm still leaning more on a new car.

HOOK EM HORNS!! Hah, it's a shame Vince Young isn't going to be putting any more college defenses to shame :'(

Re: Good makes and models?

theres a lot of possiblities. make sure u go out and sit and drive different cars. sounds to me like u want v8 powah! lol....but just go sit and see how u feel in these different cars. im saying this as you hvae the money to9 get a f150 so ur friends have to have some kind of muscle car.....even if its the v6, the cabin inside is still the same basically.

would it be that big of a cut?

i trust your words but with the figures she's pulling i just can't see her running 10.7s. especially with a full interior.

no offence, i just can't see it.

Ahh, he's putting about 530 hp or so to the ground in about a 3500 lbs car. So I can see it.

He's got around 600 at the flywheel judging by that. You take 600 hp in something around 2500 lbs and you're way down in the 9s. So yeah, I can see him going high 10s.

Re: Good makes and models?

Ok, so I think I have some stuff down about my build, but I'm going to need some confirmation. I was thiking abotu getting a Nissan 240SX adn buildign up from there. However, I'm NOT too sure if that's considered a sports car for insurance or not. well anyways, it's RWD and it's extremely lightweight, so that is a plus. I also want to try putting a Chevy 350 small block in there as well, if that'll fit. I know the engine is quite small for it's punch, adn I've heard that the 240SX has quite some room under the hood, so I just want ot know if that will work. Then maybe I'll do some suspension mods and try it from there. Any idea if this plan will work, or if it's goign ot be a sports car afterwards? Thanks

so eh... how bout them buckeyes last weekend?

Vince young is overrated, buckeyes defense tore him up last year, the horns were just lucky osu used two qb's.

anyway, i would say mustang of course but thats outa the question with insurance. but im a big mazda fan myself. i say go check some of those out. the mazdaspeed6 seems like a car with really great potential and pretty quick stock- 274hp, AWD. oh yeah, its a 4 door sports sedan so it shouldnt do to bad on insurance.
