Well, I think I know enough to start my search. I'm probably go for a S14 1997-1998; I really liked the shark eyes look, and all of the S14's came with the KA24DE; I really wanted the extra 10 HP or so from the dual over head cams. Thanks for all of your help guys. I really appreciate it.

Yes that is real neon and washers.
I found an S13 with the flip up headlights and I kinda liked them. It's totaly stock. It needs a new fan and windshield, both are getting fixed. It's got about 140000 miles on it and it's all for $2000. I test drove it and it runs well and everything. I need to check if it had the KA24DT or not. Cuz that extra 10 hp or so that I get from the dual cams would be nice.

just an fyi... by no means is this flaming or anything...
KA24E = single cam motor (89 - 90)
KA24DE = Twin cam motor (91 & up)
a "KA24DT" is really non-existent, because the "T" stands for turbo. add a "T" to the above engine codes if they have been boosted. The KA motors were not factory turbocharged. Good luck with your search

Yeah, I meant the KA24DE; I just had turbo stuck in my head.
All I need to do now is find the best SR motor. There was a thread but I don't think the question really got answered. I'm thinking maybo the blacktop: http://www.jdmracingmotors.com/index...rs&motor_id=76. I didn't buy the car yet, but if I had an S13 that's probably what I'd get. If I had an S14 I'd probably get the regular SR motor: http://www.jdmracingmotors.com/index...rs&motor_id=45

The one with the web page next to it. Or is that the blacktop? All is says is just "JDM SR20DET S14
". I just assumed that because it didn't say blacktop or redtop next to it that it was just a regular SR motor.

I read that the S13's are lighter and the dashboard looks are a love/hate situation, and they have a softer suspension. I'm leaning more towards the S14. Whatever I get I just don't want the flip up headlights. I wanted the KA24DE to start out with then swap to the SR20DET.

Does anyone have pics of the different headlights for the S14?

and there isnt a "regular" sr there is a redtop, hump black top, black top, and the s15. or something like that im drunk and tired and still trying to figure out what regular is

lol im sober and still trying to figure out what regular is. i would think redtop? the most basic SR. but who knows. i dont think theres such thing as regular lol.
