Re: ABS - Sensor
Hi, i have a 2000 Windstar and our Abs light also comes on after driving for a while. We took it to a local mechanic who hooked it up to a computer and we got the following codes: 1185 1198 1194 1254 1246 1250 1242 1214 1210. Does anyone know what they mean, and if so can you give me a link to it. The mechanic said that one of the problems could be a relay in module but that costs 500$ so he told us to take it to the dealer (were going tomorrow) to make sure because he doesnt want to charge us 500$ and it not be fixed (he didnt charge anything for looking at it either...
) I will update on what the dealer said tomorrow. Other than the ABS we havent had any problems on our van...its going great

Re: ABS - Sensor
All the codes you posted leads to the ABS control module or a wiring concern going to the module. If all the wires are in good shape, no corrosion, opens, shorts(to power or ground), nicks or chafes, then the problem probably lies in the module. All the codes refer to inlet or outlet valves in the module. Good luck with it.

Re: ABS - Sensor
Adding on to what Way2old was saying. The first thing I would do is check the fuse and then voltage at the module. If there is no power than look for all of the items Way2old suggested - looking for any reason the power is not getting there. If the power is at the connector then blame the module

Re: ABS - Sensor
I just got back from my vacation and the new LR sensor solved the problem. The resistance measurement was how I found my bad sensor. I have had my ABS light on for well over a year.
Actually I am happier that the dashboard light is off more than that the ABS system operation. |
