tis at first but once you've memorised it the next time you require the same symbol you don't have to open Charceter map again :hehe:

Thanks for your help everyone. Unfortunately I don't have access to the Character Map (for some bizarre reason ).

The good news is that I did find the symbol eventually by going through every single symbol menu in Word. I found it in "Greek Extended".

Not sure if it will show up too well, but here is the symbol I was trying to find:

Hey Spec, I believe the .exe file is called charmap.exe, you may want to do a search for it on your hard-drive, then you could add a shortcut to it in your start menu or on your desktop. For some reason, my work computer didn't have it either, but it was still on the hard-drive...

I just did a search for it and it came back with nothing. My computer is set up really strangely. I don’t have access to the desktop to change my wallpaper or screensaver and I don’t have games, etc, etc.

It's in a document on hazardous goods that I'm retyping. I have absolutely no idea what the symbol represents. Some kind of measurement I'm guessing.

Sounds like you need to go and harass your computer admin.
Especialy if it was something that was affecting your ablity to do any work.
