By the way, how is the build? It looks ok from your progress. I mean is there any part fitting issues because from the progress you shown, it looks like there is no major issues throughout the builds yet.
All the parts fitts really well, I didn't need to putty or something. Just basic glueing it togehter.

Last week I sprayed the Pearl Clear from Tamiya on the ALA Kart. I must say it's wonderfull. Great pearl effect now

I also polished the body. The colour is really hard to see on the pics but I hope you believe me when I say it's very 'bling bling'

The grill is also a special one :P Behind the chromeplate there's a clear plate with little pins on it. The pins came through the hole of the chromeplate.

Hope you'll like it

Kris.

Re: George Barris Ala Kart

It's coming along nicely from what I've seen.

As for the pearl effect, it is quite visible from your picture. I've been using it previously and all I can say is that the coat of pearl will really make it "bling bling".

Re: George Barris Ala Kart

Wheels are painted inside:

Cover with a chrome Knock-off:

Hood with a chrome detail:

Grill with the headlights:

Thrunk with the chrome pipes and a BMF floor:

Rear bullet lights I really like them.

Dash:

Firewall (correct name???)

Testfitt

Framework:

Another testfit. I really have problems to fit the hood on the body. It's too tight. I don't want to glue it because I want to remove the hood when I wanted to.

Just a little modifications and add some parts and this one will be finished
Next update in Completed section.

Kris.

Re: George Barris Ala Kart

Other than the problem with the hood, all the other progress is looking good. The engine and finish of the body is superb. Hope to see this in the "Completed" section soon.

I use a lot of Microscale MicroSol. This liquid stuff makes the decal softer so you can get them around corners etc.

I love this stuff. Just add some liquid after putting the decal on the body (or something else) and the decal is getting softer and softer.

But be carefull!!!! When the decals are soft you cant replace them and they will broke!!!
