Thanks. That sounds like a good idea with the foil, how did you get it to stick? With clear glue? I think I'm just gonna mask it off and go for black trim.

I just off-set the axles into the inner wheels as they would not be seen at all as the chrome wheels are solid and not see though from the outside.
Cheater!
j/k I just opened the kit, and the front end has presented itself as a little bit of a problem. The axels and springs (look like a cross beween control arms and torsion bars, weird..) come attached to the chassis, so I think I'll have to seperate the parts from the chassis, cut the shocks and re-locate them cemented higher up into the frame... gonna be a pain in the ass Maybe I can just move the entire chassis up into the frame, any suggestions? The rear will be damn easy. The differential and driveshaft don't appear to be sitting on the frame, so all I have to do is bend the leaf springs up a little and cement them in.

Plans are also: Smooth out where the exhaust tapers off and points downward, cement extensions on, then paint chrome so I have some nice straight tips comin off the back. I may even re-do the whole exhaust so I'll have straight pipes exiting the rear. I'm gonna go for the kind of look seawolf made with his sweet challenger, only this will be a brighter color with a more modern look.
Think I should ditch the rear window louvres? They do look kinda cool, but I'm not sure they'll flow with the "smooth" look.

Well, here's my mustang. I built it a couple years ago when I wasn't into detail and everything, so it's not that great.

Nice big chrome engine Kicker1, you should detail it now....then it'll look a whole lot better. I might lower my Camaro when I get it, Can you just chop the leaf springs down Pman? Or do you have to do other things aswell?

As I said, the easiest way to lower with leafs is to bend them, you can't "chop" leaf springs down. Since they'll be longer longitudinally then when bent, you need to cut the dowell that fits into the chassis, and just cement it directly to the frame. For even more drop, you can take one of two ways, you can do the easy way: for this, you gouge out the chassis where the ends of the leaf springs fit on (the site of the shackles and hangars on the real cars). to do it the harder way, but the way you'd do it in real life, you seperate the axle from the leaf springs, then you add "lowering blocks" that sit in between the axle and the leaf spring. To get even lower, like laying frame, you have to do a C-notch, where you cut out the frame above the differential, cause it'll ride on the frame, as well as re-locating certain things up higher into the undercarriage (eg: gas tank, muffler)

It is just like a tape..it sticks it self to the trim and you just use your modelling knife to cut around it. Peel of the bits you dont want, give it a polish and you have chrome trim !!

Does the Foil come as a tape when you buy it? If it does whats the brand name and where can you get it? How much? I might be able to get some over here in Oz, unless you ordered it from somewhere else. If you can tell me i'd greatly appreciate it, as I am always doing musclecars & Yank tanks.....I need alot of chrome for that.

Lightbulb Foil

HI! The self-adhesive foil is called "Bare Metal Foil" and it comes in a long rectangular envelope. It comes in CHROME, ULTRA-BRIGHT CHROME, GOLD(for the lowriders ),ALUMINUM, and sometimes it can be found in COPPER and MATTE-BLACK. It is usually about 5 to 6 US dollars per sheet and comes one sheet per package. If you use it correctly, you can use it on 5 to 7 cars. The company that produces it is called "The Bare Metal Foil Company. Make sure you use a FRESH no.11 X-Acto blade or it will rip easily and make sure you keep toothpicks and Q-tips around! Hope this helps!

Yeah it does, thanks TonioSeven....But all I need to know now is if it is available in Oz, or in overseas coutries. I don't have a credit card to order any and I doubt that my model shop would order/have any in stock.
