Re: how to find out if i have an actual "iroc"
1990 if I'm not mistaken was the only year in which the IROC-Z was an actual model... until '90 the Iroc-Z was (as people have said) an optional package for Z28 model Camaros. On the bottom skirt behind the front wheels were the Z28 badges and the large IROC-Z graphic was near the rear wheels on the lower side of the doors. You can spot a 1990 IROC-Z because those smaller badges behind the front wheels say IROC-Z instead of Z28.
Somebody once told me that the 1990 Iroc-Z's were the only ones ever to come equiped with factory true dual exhausts... wonder if anyone can confirm that??? |

Re: how to find out if i have an actual "iroc"
85-87 the IROC was an option (code b4z) for the z28 and were the only years that it was an IROC-Z and the decals were toward the front of the doors and z28 emblems were retained. 88-90, the z28 was dropped (even though the RPO code for the iroc was changed to Z28) and the IROC (not IROC-Z) was a separate model. decals were toward the rear of the doors and emblems were changed to IROC. no third or forth gen (to my knowledge) has ever been equiped from the factory with dual exhaust, only dual outlets from the muffler. on late third gens, RPO option G92 included dual cats so maybe thats why u herd the roomer.
