There has been a lot of discussion on this subject lately. Not only Jewish folks get circumsized. Both of my children were done at birth as was I and have never had a minutes problem with infections. Hasn't hurt the sex life either. I know of some men who have had to be circumsized at age 50 due to problems with the foreskin growing shut. In this case I have to agree with the mother, if the child is having problems now then he will continue to experience issues. Get the procedure done now before he gets older. The trauma will only get worse the older he gets.

I don't see how you can argue from both sides of the coin unless you're somebody that was old enough to recall the procedure when you were cut.

If you were circumcised at birth, you've never known your body in any other state than as a circumcised male - how can you argue whether it's good or bad?
Now those that aren't circumcised, I can appreciate them saying they ain't getting cut. Heck, we all cringe at the thought of getting kicked in the nuts - think about the thought of some guy wielding an insanely sharp blade in that area!

I do know that in Africa it is traditional for the males to be circumcised at 18 and there are HUGE problems with infections, complications from circumcision and everything else. My sister worked in a hospital for a while that dealt this these victims of bad circumcision, it wasn't unusual for young males to end up with amputations or even die as a result.

Face it, those that aren't cut are going to fight on the Dad's side because they have a different understanding of the whole situation.

No offense taken! Of course they aren't going to cut this kid without general anesthetic. Second, the infection rate is extremely low in the US since it will be performed under sterile conditions. Finally, at 8 he will get over it quickly just think what might happen if he has to wait until he is 21 or older.

Yea once he hit puberty and he gets those constant bonners it's gonna make it ten time more painful.
