Re: spidey bike + figure

Seabee-Have gone for fluorescent red ,as is the best match in my opinion.
Joel no haven't done all decals ,only done tail section as that all my nerves would allow
muffler not yet fin still have to do rest of staining on it plus tail needs some clear sprayed on it ,I just put it together to see what it looked like.
Still have to mask other parts for blue, then tackle the rest of the webbing decals
Have just noticed that some of the web pattern not lined up right will have to try and fix
BTW I like the Ren decals do not need much or any micro sol/set they go done quite well.
As for rider decals hope to start on them in the next day or so .

Re: spidey bike + figure

Shayne, was thinking of using TS36 myself. The SMS decal instructions calls for painting red, applying decals, masking and painting blue... Did you follow it that way, or did you go for masking off the to-be blue areas before painting red as well? I fear that such a vivid red will influence the blue. Or maybe just primed again before blue (after masking)?

Have painted the red, mask then blue,(hopefully the blue over the red won't affect the blue as have paited the other bits that are just blue )
Think I might need some posative thoughts/enrgy while doing this (Iknow it will ,I know it will,I know it will)

Re: spidey bike + figure

Nice bike!

I used TS-8 for mine... and TS-50 for the blue... then thinned the blue and airbrushed it over the honeycomb decals to blend them in.

Re: spidey bike + figure

Comming along nicely! I myself would have gone for some primer over the red before painting blue as the TS-50 is quite translucent but if you say it worked out fine I'll take your word for it.
Rider looks great.

Re: spidey bike + figure

What a beautiful, clean build! Can you tell me, briefly, what you used for the intial painting and burn stains on the exhaust pipes?

Re: spidey bike + figure

Shayne--what did you use on the frame. Tamiya semi-gloss or something else? Just curious. Whatever you used it looks great!
