Re: New sportscar design.

There's something interesting in the design of this car...
The only thing I see that looks wrong apart from what was mentioned are the wheels, they aren't round enough, but it will come with practice. Good job.

BTW welcome back bonzelite

HighOctaneNOSUser, last time I saw lemorris was at the end of last month.

Theft in the Desert

Now for the big dawg. Let me warn you now this is gonna be a long one. You might wanna go get some salad or something.

ok here goes

On December 27th 2005 Mistie was stolen! That's right! unbelievable! The bad people pulled her right out of my driveway as I slept . Dumbfounded doesn't describe my expression when I went to go to work and my car wasn't in the driveway. I was absolutely shocked. Just like that she was gone and I immediately flipped my lid.

I came inside and called my wife and then I posted about it on lowlifevw.com then I called the cops. An officer arrived after about 30 minutes and my first response was to flee but then I remembered I called him. His name was Officer Spalding and he was pretty cool. He gave me a case number after hearing my detailed description which included things like

"...and if you wiggle a little on the left side of the drivers seat you can feel the spring we slightly re-welded a little crooked at Nates house on that day when the sunset was really nice but I didn't enjoy it as much cause I was kinda cold and didn't own my Empi jacket yet"

and

"...the passenger rear rim has a slight paint chip in it but not many people notice cause I push the car backwards or forward so the chip is facing the ground and then nobody sees it unless they're really visually fussy like my friend Jennifer or my new dog Soda Cracker who's deaf but I didn't name him that because he has an impairment I named him that because he's white and splotchy like a crack....um...nevermind."

The cop left and the next 3 days were horrible. I was like the Fonz when he lost his cool. I was like Snap and Crackle...no pop. I was too shocked to be angry. I just wanted my car. I couldn't believe that someone would actually steal such a recognizable vehicle, but then again maybe it was only recognizable to me...

That last statement proved to be very untrue. The outpouring of support I received from the online communities I visit was staggering. I received tons of email and my posts got literally thousands of views. I was offered 6 VWs...3 to keep. People called me crying and angry. My dog told me it was gonna be ok then peed on my shoe. My DHP friends had my back and my heart. Chirco, lowlife, hoodride, pinevalleybulletin (All my Children forum...I love that show), Greenway Pet Clinic and many many more all came to my aid.

I received an email from a former neighbor. He lived next door for about a month or 2 after we moved in. He's in the Air Force and was sent to the Middle East. He emailed me from Afghanistan when he heard the news! I was floored. You find out who cares about you when something bad happens and I really had no clue how many good people there were out there. Thanks to everybody for holdin me up.

What happened?

Well the 3 days went by really really slow and I was a bit lost and then my mom called me on Dec 31st about 11 am. She was screaming "They found Mistie! They found Mistie!" I said "Mistie who?" lol no I didn't I screamed "where!!!??" She said some dude called her and she tried to explain to me but I cut her off and told her to give me the number...sorry mom. She gave me the number and I called this guy. he said he had my car in his driveway, and gave me directions. I called the cops and my mom. and then we headed over.

My Uncle David was in town as we were having a family reunion while all of this was going on and I was sure grateful he ran all the lights. We pulled into a neighborhood about 5 miles from my house and there she was. Sittin in some stranger's driveway. The homeowner came out to greet me and told me his side of the story.

It turns out he had just bought the house and was gone for 3 weeks to get his family and move from Chicago. They get to Tucson and come to their new home and there's my car sitting in their driveway. Confusion set in...was this a Tucson tradition? Is that what a tamale looks like?...actually he let it sit for a day thinking that someone would return to pick it up but the bad guys never came back. He went through the car and found my registration and called the first Lemorris Harris in the book...my dad.

I was thrilled to see Mistie again and she seemed ok. The roofrack (oh yeah..I got a roofrack about a month ago) and the stereo (oh yeah I got a new stereo a couple weeks ago) were gone. They also stole my Greenbay Packer antenna ball!...Now this really makes me mad. It's not enough that you steal a guys car but you actually take the time to take his antenna ball? What is that? What kind of person does that? Sick...just sick.

DHP Ed and DHP Matt showed up and then DHP Jerry arrived and towed me back to his place. Mistie wouldn't start cause the bad guys cut the ignition wires to hot wire her.

Once we got to the DHP Perofrmance Shop (Jerry's house) the real work began. Upon further inspection we saw a tiny dent on the front fender and bumper the exhaust was broken off from the flange. It is my opinion that the broken exhaust may have been the thing that got her back to me. When the bad guys pulled her out of the driveway they didn't know you need to angle out a lowered VW and they slammed the exhaust. They probably also hit a few other high spots and knocked it off. A VW without an exhaust hooked up is one of the loudest things known to man. My little sister is one of the others but she's just below a VW without an exhaust hooked up.

The DHP crew got her wired back up and hooked up in just a few hours. I was extremely grateful. I was able to drive home with almost no issues.

I'm stopping this at this point right now. It'll take me 3 days to get this update completed with photos and stuff. I just wanted to get the basic story out there.

I'll add photos and finish the tale over the next couple of days.

Hang on Mistoids....we're back!

I made a video to thank everyone who was there for us during this time.

Re: New sportscar design.

Oh, well, now that you mention it...

Yeah. I did.

I was just saying, some other forums have like, an OT Community thread so all the artists could talk about something other than art. That is all.

hello, DP. your stuff is very good that i've seen. you hold much promise and i want to see more of your stuff. you have talent indeed. your skills are coming up, i can see. with a few more years, i'd say about 5 years devoted fully, you will be a powerhouse. you must maintain this vision for yourself. do not let this gift fall away. i say give yourself permission to follow the gift and not sell-out and become a boring wannabe. you're on the verge of breaking out. but you must continue to put in the commitment.

before i whore the post further with my banter, what are your intentions?
