Australian politics is comletely shit. The Labour party is an absolute joke, there IS no opposition to the current government at the moment. I think we need to pay our politicians more to try and attempt some Industry Leaders into politics.

While it may seem to the Americans that it's not our governments fault, true, but our government IS at fault for failure to protect Australian Workers (or should I say, purposly stripping down job security that was once inplaces in Australian industries, thats' right, they changed it).The law was changed (less than 2 months ago) to allow bad workers to be sacked on the spot without warning, in my case, my employed exploited this legal "flaw" and sacked me for "bullshit reasons", this does suck


I won't go into detail how this affects our country, but anyone, in any institution (Except heath care and public health) can be fired AT WILL on the spot FOR NO REASON.

This does not protect familys, and does not secure a future for young Australian workers, disagree at will, but it cost me my job, and I know a lot of people already who have lost their apprenticeships souly because their employee did not want them. Some future we have.

(Honestly you Aussies must have NO confidence in your Labour party whatsoever, I mean you've voted this clown in 12 years running even though the majority of the people hate him)

I'm not yet done with my ex-employer, once I find a new job I'm slaming him with a 4 page essay (and the directors of the board which we have close family members on) on how I proved they are corrupt.

The funny thing is, to an extent, my family just about started the club I got fired from.

Back in the 1950's on the block of land the club sits on now, belonged to 2 family's, my fathers side and good friends of my grandfathers bought the land out to start a pub, which started a trade union club, my grandfather had no input (that I know of) in the building or management of the pub (which was later turned into a club) but was member number 1, and over-looked the club as the president of the board of directors, he retired in the 1980's, but his friends stayed on, and one of them is still apart of the board of directors, I should of brought this up earlyer, this could get interesting.

Bullshit. You don't pay a fucking thing. They pay you to do a job.

Many companies? Hell, most companies have shitty management. They screw people over and it sucks, but the governments has no business ensure someones job when a private company is signing the paycheck. That decision belongs to the management - not matter how screwed up they may be.

In the state of Michigan (like many others) we have 'at will' employment. An employer can fire a worker for any reason and a worker can walk off the job for any reason. Its the way it should be. You choose to work and the employer chooses to pay you. Either side should be able to walk away.

Good management should recognize good workers and do what they can to retain them. Sounds like the company you work(ed) for have piss poor management and it'll bite them in the ass in the long run.

I don't buy into the socialist idea that its someone elses job to look out for you. (which is not to say their isn't a place for government agencies to help in times of need)

I told y'all that they made up crap to get rid of me, well I realised tonight that I did 3 shifts after I turned 20 and they stopped giving me shifts, the pay was suppose to go up at age 20, they didn't want to pay me the extra 30 bucks a week so they fired me.

Let this thread not be a politial argument, just needed to vent my anger, thkx all.

It's so hard to find a job here, I can't survive without a job.
