Re: WIP: Shelby Cobra 427

After a few months of inactivity, I am slowly starting to finish this one up again...

The reason why this build was put on hold is because of an accident while trying to apply BMF on top of the 427 Cobra badges on the two sides. A big chunk of paint was chipped away from the body when I used a knife to trim away the exccess. I was so mad and decided to leave modelling for a while. I wish I have pics to show (I originally took some pics), but a reformat of my computer has caused them to be erased...

Then I decided to repair it (Man how many times do I need to do this?). What I have done is I first sanded away the badges on both sides. Then I used masking tape to cover the parts where I don't have to paint. Sprayed body color, applied decal and clear coat the body. Sanded down the uneven areas caused by masking, polished and waxed. The below picture shows the result:

Also, here are some more pics of the body with the added headlights and other tidbits:

It's almost done after almost 4 months, I really didn't expect that this build will last this long in the beginning.

Wow, despite all the setbacks and re-do's, you sure have a great model to show for all your troubles. The dash and interior are excellent but I really like the graphix and finish on the body. Great work.

Re: WIP: Shelby Cobra 427

Nice work on the paint. Ya polishing is somewhat of a pain but the end results are worth it. I wouldnt paint another model without doing it now! Keep up the good work
