I was sittin' here by myself thinking today I wanted to do a model of my Batmobile...(which...due to run-ins with the state police is parked in the Batcave for the time being
); a 1997 Eagle Talon TSi AWD Okay...if they can do a kit of a CRX...why not one of a Mitsubishi Eclipse or a Talon?!?!?! To answer your question, I believe the Eclipse GSX they used in the movie in real life is AWD...and seeings how you can't burn out with AWD hardly...if at all, I don't see how it can manage in the movie unless it's FWD...Either way, if they do come out with a model kit it'll prolly be the Eclipse...which then I will have to modify to look like my Talon Second generation TSi's are pretty rare, compared to their first generation Eagle cousins you see on the road, whereas, there were a few more GSXs made. TSi = Turbo Sports Injected GSX = Gran Sport Cross (the X is kinda like cross country referring to the offroad AWD) But anyways...I am on a rant...both have turbo and boast the 2.0 Mitsu engine, only difference is that the 2G Talon is assembled in the US and has different badging then the Eclipse (not too mention different taillights) BTW...the Eagle graphics from the F&F I found a place here in the States that produces them in any color...so I ordered a set in silver for my black Talon Can't wait til' they're here

okay... the eclipse and talon were considered "sister" cars under DSM (diamond star motors). it was a joint design about 5-8 years ago. notice how all the cars looked almost exactly the same... it wasnt coincidence, it was because they were all designed off the same platform.
this is pretty common within companyies like GM... look at the multitude of similar cars between chevy and pontiac. but it is not so common between car companies... the latest attempt to pull this off again is the pontiac vibe and the toyota matrix. they are both designed off the same base, but have different styling cues to set them apart. ~Mike

actually, this kind of 'same platform' design takes place a lot where I grew up, in South Africa....
Ford & Mazda use the following vehicles and just badge them different: Ford Ranger = Mazda Drifter Ford Tracer = Mazda 323 Ford Meteor = Mazda 323 notch back Ford Bantam = Mazda Rustler The only difference is literally the colors the vehicles are available in, what you can get in red from Ford you can't have in red from Mazda....you want a blue Bantam, you have to buy a Rustler, if you get what I mean..... Urban and Mp3 you guys are right...they were made in Normal, Illinois at the Diamond Star Motors plant, but what made the second generation Eclipses and Talons different from that of the first generation was that the plant closed up in 1995 I believe so anything on from that was more than likely imported...but I'm not sure...for the sake of all purposes they still consider the 2g cars DSM. I believe the DSM plant spit out the Plymouth? Lazer, Dodge Stealth, Eclipse, Talon but if you want a really cool website check out:

I don't know if you're into building RC Cars, but I was looking in an rc mag, and I saw an ad for an RC body of Toretto's Veilside RX-7. I think the stickers were prepainted on it, but I'm not really sure though. I can't remember which mag it was, but it's probably in all of them. That would be a really cool body to put on an RC chassis.

I've heard from many that the green eclipse wasn't a turbo. It just had some ghey Hollywood sound effects. So in that case, it wouldn't be a GSX Eclipse correct? I wouldn't put it past the movie makers since there are sooooo many things in that movie that are wrong. But lets not start another one of those discussions
If anyone wants to read up on that, do a search

I think we also determined somewhere along the line that the headlights from the Aoshima C-West FD kit match the red one in the movie.
