For people of our stature, prison of course is no cake walk, but for the homeless it's a lot better for them. Of course, they commit a crime, get arrested, and they're no longer homeless.

Now, not saying this isn't helping the homeless get off the street, but isn't it terrible that homeles rather get arrested and serve jail time than spend it on the streets? Despite the fact they have freedom on the outside, freedom to do what? most can ask.

Yeah sure, Gladiators for the 21st century would be awesome and I love how someone said it goes againist the constitution 'cause apparently every nation has the same one, but despite that mistake, sure, why not?

'Cause it would turn into something more and as if the whole world politically doesn't hate us enough, let's start up killer games. Now, the Brits had a good idea, but look at it now. Those prisoners civilized into a alligator wrestling, boomerang throwing weirdos that would only later on take controlof an awesome forum and rule it with an iron fist.

And island prison, something highly remote. Of course i dont want to get into specific details, like what crimes go and where etc, but in general, an island prison. Lord of the Flies the real life.

How about we take away the inmates creature comforts, like weights and cable tv. Limit there reading to self help books, cooking books, and books with Fabio on the cover.

And bread and water only. Turkey and dressing will be a gift on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Allow all gangs that despise each other to be left inside the walls of 20ft X 20ft courtyard. They will fight to the death. And since they enjoy killing each other with guns on the streets so much they can all have a gun with 2 bullets each. No one comes out alive. Then you send in the canibals into clean up the mess. Seriously just have them go fist to fist until they beat each other to death. The last one left standing will live to fight another day.

i'd say just put some cameras in the current prisons and videotape that, there are enough prisoners getting killed around the clock to make a once a week show.

but i agree that prisons are too comfortable. they dont need cable tv, weights, excercise rooms, good meals, universities, or basketball. i'd say give them trade education, something that they'd have to pay for with work done in the pennitentiary, so they can come out with a diploma and stay out of prison. but this would have to be a priviledge for good behavior. i think the prisons should be separated, good prisoners together and bad prisoners togeher so that the good ones will have a better opportunity of staying out of prison.

their basic needs should be taken care of, they shold have the ability to do SOME work as a reward for good behavior and education should be a reward, nothing more. they should also be able to have outdoor excercise like running in the courtyard, pushups, etc, but nothing expensive.

and as for th island idea, they tried it and look how australia turned out, they talk all funny and are no match for the great northern country of canada.

How many people on here have actually even seen a prison not just the out side but the inside? I work at a maximum and a minimum prison. Prison is no fun. Max for example you have your population inmates. the get to inter act with other in mates in a room called a day hall all they can do there is watch tv (3-4 channels) 2 which are news, cards, or read. They can go exercise for 1 1/2hrs at most a day. The only other time out of there cell is for chow (food). If they are lucky they ask to work so they can clean areas of the prison under constant supervision. max guys get out a tottal of about 10hrs if they work.
AD seg/ Dis seg inmates are on lock down 22-23 hrs a day they eat in there cells, get handcuffed w/leg irons to be escourted out side to yard. Hand cuffs are taken off and they are locked into a 6x8 seperate man cells to exercise for 1hr. If they are lucky right after yard they will get a shower (10min).
Minimum inmates are a luckier but you still wouldnt want to be one. They are out of there 3-10 man cells from 6am-10pm wk days and 6am-1am on wk ends. It is mandatory that they have a job some 10-20 are close enough to release so they will get a work release job (outside of the prison walls). All inmates have to strip naked when they leave or come back from work (make sure no contraband is taken out or brought in). They have tv 6 channels tottal 2 sports, (not hbo/show time)1 movie channel, and the rest are news. Other than that they can go outside to play basketball/work out play cards or have a garden. For those people who think prison is easy its not. I just work there and i come home and wake up stressed out alot off times prison hase a 85% turn over rate for correctional officers because it is a very stressful job.

so basicly it's better than my boarding school lol. jk, but i agree that it's not hard, but it's expensive, if they were to cut down on costs by reducing some of the stuff, they could save alot of money. do the prisoners get money when they work? i think that money should go towards paying for their time in prison, it can't be considered slave labor if they're paying off debt.
