what is a " ptm raceblock " ? Do they cast / machine their own blocks ... like a Dart, World or GM Bowtie ?

There is no way he purchased an 800 HP NA 350 for 9,000$ Your talking NASCAR HP on a Bracket Racers price tag.

And if this 350 made anywhere near 800 HP .. it wouldnt be streetable.

Does this kid have any idea on the suspension changes it would take to hook up that kind of power ? The stock Malibu stuff wont come close to getting it to plant that kind of power.

So bottom line is your being fed a line of BS period.

Re: 800hp n/a small block

WHY dont you just sorta, you know, say that maybe if you could look under his hood, you will race him... then when he really only has the V6 that it came with, you can blow him off the road. either that, or he really DOES have the 800 horses he claims, and when you try to race him, all he can do is sit there and spin his tires since all he has is 8" slicks and probly an open diff, and the archaeic rwd, solid axle setup, vs. your awd talon. it'll be fun either way.

Re: 800hp n/a small block

IF he claims he drives it on the street, he's full of SHIT. An 800 hp small block is VERY attainable, but it will be unstreetable, especially in a 3600 lb car with an automatic.

Re: 800hp n/a small block

yeah a 350 with no help that uses street legal parts probably cant make any more than 600 at the CRANK... theres likely a 20 percent or more power loss thru the drivetrain as well... all i know is i will be happy with the 440 horse and 450 lb.ft. my 350 will be putting out and still be able to drive on the street, sortof lol...

by the way, if you go to gm performance parts website, they sell a 572 BIG BLOCK that only makes 720 horsepower in its best version (lol i sed only 720) and that is race only... and its a friggin 572 big block, not a 350 bored to 355 small block... basically, the most power you can get from pump gas on a 350 is probably 500hp-ish at the crank with very bad low end power as a compromise
