Re: Electronic Hatch Opener/Closer
It's real simple actually and they are already made it's called a spyder
![]() But in all reality if you have good supports on the hatch already you just need to lift it a little bit and it shold go up. Use 2 motors. One that pushes a stick against the hatch when you open it Say make a track the stick can slide in as it moves towards the back the hatch raises a little each time. On close move the stick back to position and then have something that pulls in a cord to close the lid. The closing is the hard part. You could probably fabricate something cheaply.

Re: Electronic Hatch Opener/Closer
Most window regulators use a cable that runs off the motor, so if you could somehow fabricate a window regulator to the hatch...by god it may just work... then you could just use a normal window switch with it.

Re: Electronic Hatch Opener/Closer
I second the hydrolic actuators. Bring it to Monster Garage on TV, they put those things on like every damn car they made lol.

Re: Electronic Hatch Opener/Closer
Yeah I was thinking about using actuator, but getting it closed is where I'm getting stuck.

Re: Electronic Hatch Opener/Closer
Just watch some episodes of Pimp My Ride, you should get some sweet ideas from those pros.
A window motor would be more than enough to lift it up if you don't have a turbo wing on it, otherwise it might be a little more difficult. EDIT: I see you have a thumbnail spoiler. Get a window motor. EDIT EDIT: I see you got Minn. plates, where do you live? |
