Re: Didn't one of you guys get 25+ mpg with a Z28?

im about sure i get at least 20-25 highway, ill have to let u know how she does on out trip to atl...my v6 made it just shy 100 miles away from atlanta last year before i had to fill up and that was a 7 and a half hr trip at 87-100mph at times. all the 5.7 cars we had that were heavily moded got around the same as i did, we all stoped at the same time so i guess unless u got a big ass stupid ass cam or something else thats nuts u should do ok

Thats impossible, unless you did alot of mpg additive mods, which even then would get you in the high 30s at most.. 50 MPG is what hybrids like the Honda Insight get.

Re: Didn't one of you guys get 25+ mpg with a Z28?

I do know that if it ain't running right, you aren't going to get optimum mpg. With what you have in it (1500) you have alot of room to play before you're spending money just for the hell of it.

Complete tune up, new exhaust, cai, etc sounds decent for starters, but at some point you're going to sacrifice performance for fuel economy... just be careful not to trip over that line and you should be good.

Think of it this way... GM made the thing as well as they could, and while you may be able to improve on what they accomplished, I wouldn't expect much without paying more than the benefit you receive from the mods. Yeah they might have been able to make it get 120 mog, but then you'd probably paid like 75K for it... not worth the price.

There is at least one guy driving a '91 GTA with L98 getting just a tad under 30 MPG highway, routinely.

Google: Glenn91L98GTA

^What does this have to do with anything? 50 MPG is a big difference over 30

Don't mind that retard "Dick Wolf". Thats just supervisor1886, apparently he went from helpful member to a sarcastic ass to a troll. At least he is not trying to cover his lust for "dick" with his names.

Wonder how bad my highway mileage will be with this cam and the stroker. I bet 22 MPG.
