Re: WIP Another Modena Stradale (almost MSM)

I started working on the seats. The SMS ones are close but not perfect. also there are some different options with the Stradale. I was looking for the red and grey two tone look so i had to convert the seats a bit. here are some progress picks.

As usual, i used epoxy putty to add a lip around the seats like there is in the real ones. there was no such lip on these seats. I also moved the seam on the bottom cushion towards the front and added more "padding" to that cushion. At this stage, its just roughly sanded and carved into shape. Any feedback is always welcome.

Re: WIP Another Modena Stradale (almost MSM)

I wanted to try and simulate the door panels more accurately so i carved out a bit on the resin pieces and used a thin sheet of styrene to bring the "pocket" out of the door. still have to paint it black and put some CF decal on it but here's some progress

Exellent job on the seat , also I thik they should be quetly slim an the head zone should be a bit rounded: well I tought you can sand down a bit at least

Lookin' awesome! Keep it coming. All the little corrections are going to add up to one kickass model.

Re: WIP Another Modena Stradale (almost MSM)

finally some pictures of progress. I've been making slow progress on this model. I can never find enough time anyways. I've modified the part that i think holds the intake filter. the original tamiya part looks like this:

The stradale has a different shape to that part... like this.

I used putty and CF decal to try to recreate it... like this...

I also started painting the seats
Here they are after red paint and all taped up for the german grey

Here they are without the tape next to the dash. I still need to paint the black details but i'm waiting for the paint to fully dry

Here is a close up of one seat

I rounded the top of the seat as suggested by gionc. Thanks!

Re: WIP Another Modena Stradale (almost MSM)

Been really busy as usual. got some progress to show tho

I'm really happy with the shine that i got on this model. i must say that it is the best shine ive ever gotten. practice does make perfect
It should really look deep after i put wax on it. I still have to put on the decals and clear. The wheels are awaiting some alcad.

almost a self portrait

here's the interior at the moment. seat belts are ready to go on. im ready for bed. been working on this for hours today.

Perfect shine: I think at least is the first I see in red.

Yessss, impressive shine... wow
What polish did you used?.. Could you post some short description of your paint-polish process?

Thanks
