Re: Paul Stewart's F1 is apparently chassis #023

Hi BMW V12, I did state, " Is the possible owner" and "First owner of 040,(correct me if I am wrong)". Maybe you could be so kind as to email Mr Hahne. To find out his connection with this car (040). Danke.

F1 Monster, Here is a few pics of the video. Sorry about the crap quality, but you get some weird results, when you take pics of the telly.

Re: Paul Stewart's F1 is apparently chassis #023

thanks for the vidcaps...

i don't know if there is any connection between him and the car with the high mirrors and polished rims (i don't know if it's even #040)....the reason why you see him behind the wheel of this car is because he tested it for AutoWelt 1/97 against the F50 and wrote the article about it, it says text: Hahne under the article...

"Der Mann gefällt mir, denn er zahlt auch jährlich 20 Pfund Sterling Strafe dafür, dass das (englische) hintere kennzeichen nicht gelb, sondern schwarz ist." is one quotation of this article...

translation: i like the man, because he pays a 20-pound-penalty each year, because the british rear license plate is black and not yellow.

i don't know the truth, it's just speculation...

^_^

Very interesting BMW V12, As Mr Hahne is a true car enthusiast, I am sure he will respond to a very polite email, (my German, is not very good). Danke.

Exclamation Bernd Hahne

Hallo and greets from Germany...

I found a link from here to Mr. Hahne´s website...so perhaps i should give some answers:

Mr. Hahne dosn´t own a McLAren F1 but he drives a lot of classic cars for their owners in historic racing - And he wins... on the tricky "Nordschleife"

Mr. Hahne is a represantant of Ferrari and Maserati, but dosen´t own a garage. Of course you can buy a car !

We will answer every question - just use the mail-adress on the personal website. He will answer !

Cheers Klaus ( webmaster http://www.berndhahne.de )

Excuse my ignorance, but is this Paul Stewart Jackie Stewart's son? Just curious.

Also, I also think it's a shame that it's not BRG anymore. At least one F1 should be.

Re: Paul Stewart's F1 is apparently chassis #023

If I were buying one, silver would be my first choice (although that darker gray is nice too); but my second one might well be BRG. Something commemorating the McLaren plaid might also be nice (or Scottish blue perhaps?).

Silver would be your first choice? Why? It's sooooo boring!

And what blue is Scottish blue? Light, medium, or dark?

Re: Paul Stewart's F1 is apparently chassis #023

Yeah, I guess it's the obvious choice, but it does look very good. Heck, if I had the bucks, I'd have a BRG one, a silver one, and a black one; but funds are low right now! Scottish blue is a bit lighter than navy blue but not light per se. I guess medium would cover it. I picture it as the color on the Scottish flag.

What would you choose?

Re: Paul Stewart's F1 is apparently chassis #023

Metallic black with a lot of gloss. Nice and simple, and if a McLaren could be understated, this would be it.

I do like the following colors as well:
Candy apple red with black interior.
Navy blue with tan/brown interior.
Orange.

All on HDF cars where the black wheels and spoiler and front lip set off the colors nicely. On the blue car, I would have the polished silver wheels, though. I think they are called a satin finish. I definitely wouldn't ever put chrome on a McLaren.

Re: Paul Stewart's F1 is apparently chassis #023

I am still sticking to the theme of 'if you remember a Thread on a car and you have new info / new pics on it, try to find it and add to it rather than making a new one' so here is a new pic (to me at least) of #023

Enjoy!!
