Re: 2nd gen DOHC swap

Anyone out there try putting a Magnum SOHC Head on a 2.4L engine? It seems like if you put in the 2.4 and attached the Magnum Sohc head, intake, exhaust and put in bigger injecters, you would have a good running combo, if you could find a timing belt of the proper size.
If you only used the non-magnum head and intake, I would think that there wouldn't be enough air flow to give it the same torque curve of the original 2.0 non-magnum engine. A Magnum head (w/cam) and the Magnum intake (with the runners set on secondary) may approximate the air flow of the original Sohc engine closely enough to make the computer think everything was OK. You would need 23 or 24lb injectors to make up the 20% more displacement of the 2.4L. Just a thought, I was hoping someone may have tried it before. If it ran OK, it would solve the 2.4l ECU problem. It would also look completely "stock" so the emission dudes wouldn't suspect a thing.
