Re: 30k mile maintenence?

And another plus to the spyders with low milage. That means they were garage kept. Which means they were mostly adult owned because kids need cars year round. So they are generally in alot better condition, have lower miles and so I think they are a better buy. Plus they hold value alot better.

Just something I noticed after looking for two of them. Mind you finding a spyder gst, manual is almost as a pain as finding a good condition gsx in manual.

Re: 30k mile maintenence?

Alrighty guys, I am going to be doing the maintenence at my local Mitsu on Friday.... Ya ya, I know, but I have a like 75% discount coupon or something from the dealership manager cause of all the times they fucked me before, plus my dad got kinda friendly with him lol. Ok, so I asked if they would put the Syncromesh fluid in the tranny when they flush it, and he said that they only recommend Mitsu fluid. What's the deal? Other than that, everything should be fine, I'm not gonna have them do plugs or oil cause those were done like 1500 miles ago. He also "wants" me to do timing belt. Even though the car doesn't have the miles, it has the age. Would this be a good idea?

While all of this is going on, I plan on taking out one of their Evo9's for a test drive hehe.

Re: 30k mile maintenence?

Yes, timing belts can go bad with age as well I believe. Better safe than sorry. I wouldn't get it done at mitsu though.

Re: 30k mile maintenence?

use BG syncroshift II. Get it and bring it to them. You are paying them, they will use what you want.

Re: 30k mile maintenence?

Alright, and it is pefectly safe for the awd tranny? I just don't want to screw up the tranny, like what happened to you, blackcrow lol. I don't think that I need to be paying a visit to Shep any time soon hopefully.

Re: 30k mile maintenence?

when you guys are talking about 30k's, do you mean mile sor kilometers?...need clarification for the Canadian DSM crew!.....

My 1990 has 177000 kilometers which is about 105000miles....

so how bad is that for a 16 year old car?
