![]() I never said anything about making street racin legal? Oops....a lot of mistakes. Anyhow, re-imburse you for his mistakes!?! No of course not, you're not my problem but you can't kill a guy because some people found him guilty, especially after two felonies, i mean, there a degrees/levels of felonies and depending on that, is what we should do to someone. After two felonies, death.....I think not, unless it was major ordeal. So if you are convicted of two felonies and you are innocent, you think you should be put to death with the case close and the real guy still out there? Sham is right though and now I think some prisons are doing that so crminals won't resort to thier old doings. They can make money now, so something new and hopefully better is goin on. Anyone can change, it's possible and life gives and takes things from you and you'll have to live with that. Nothing can change that. I still beleive punishments should be harsher and that we waste to much money on these criminals in death row though. A sentence to death row should be shorter so money isn't spent like that and can be used on better things.

I think execution is a little extreme, but depending on what the situation is. If the criminal killed a child, or set off an explosive killing a lot of people, then I think death penalty and execution should be considered.

If its Premeditated????
I wasn't talking about a Killer. They should all be executed.
I was talking about a Thief, a Burgurlar, a Drug Dealer and anybody else that demonstrates, beyond a Shadow of a Doubt, that he intends to continue his unlawful acts and risky lifestyle. That's confirmed by the 2nd conviction. That's easy for most people to understand. That convict is not headed toward Re-habilitation. I feel sorry for people who cant make the tough decisions, and I dont see how anybody can be squemish about the DP in those cases. But people who cannot make a tough decision, as in favor of the DP, for those guys, should be made to pay for the suffering of the rest of us.

This often confuses me as well, PRISON SOLVES NOTHNG!!!! It seems to make criminals even more angry
Perhaps a hard term of breaking rocks might set them straight

I agree with Moss' prison statment
"Prison solves nothing" is very close to right.
A very small percentage of Prisoners, usually the young guys, get the Crap scared out of them in Prison. They learn to become the good citizen, at least good enough to never come back into the Criminal Justice system. However, the vast majority of Prisoners just get Harder, Angrier and more knowlegable. Thier Second Felony is much much harder to solve and even harder to proove. These Felonies become meaner and harder on thier Victims as time goes by. Eventually they get caught and sometimes go back to prison. Now it should be obvious to everyone, that this guy, and eveyone like him, should be Executed. Save us the Agony of dealing with this guy. I'm saying something logical for Executing these guys. All this time I've been waiting for sombody to say something logical about not executing them. Pretend you are speaking before the Supreme Court, going up against me, trying to keep us from executing all these Multi-time losers. What would you say that might sway the Supreme Court Judges? Anybody???? |

Actually its pretty simple - the law doesn't support the execution of people who have not committed a capitol crime. You'll need to change the law before the court can do anything.

Yup, that's a good reason why we cant....
I made a mistake when I asked. I should have asked for a logical reason why we dont....
I did watch a forum on the subject. The Supreme court reads its decisions, and the Various Law entities (Right's, left's, U-Prof's, etc etc) get to make thier comments. Among the comments was "....before the DP can be assessed, it must be prooven that an Aggrevated Assualt with the Intent to Kill......"I was angerd by that inane statment. There is always obvious aggression when a Burgular etc etc finds it necessart to silence a Victim who would be a witness. They never talked about what crimes fall into the DP catagory though. I was pretty sure Jay Walking was not included. But I dont think I ever heard anybody explain the difference between Capitol crimes, and Non-Capitol crimes. I guess I'll have to go buy a Judge a drink....

It's weird how now of days some poeple look at prison like that! THe homless almost want to be arrested because of three square meals a day, place to sleep, HBO
, and gyms! It's obvious on how jails are getting crowded and also the fact of what this thread is about! Criminals also get paid now so they can pay off their, ordeals such as child support and others are able to keep it!Insanity plea should be watch! Anyone see Primal Fear???

I went to Korea and back on a Troop ship.
Any victim of one of those rides know's what Prison life should be like. I tried to explain that to a Judge once. He told me it would be ruled "Cruel and Unusual" today. Aint that a Crock....? It should be the Rule instead of the exclusion. Packed in! Bunks were canvas laced to Pipes, six bunks high head to head and foot to foot. Not enough room between row's of bunks' to let two small adults pass. One had to Duck into a bunk to let the other by. Hundreds of guys packed into one big 'room'. All the lines were 'Asshole to Belly button', no posessions at all, news 24/7 coming down on us from Speakers, lights on 24/7, group trips to the Showers, Fresh water available only twice a day, meals served in groups at 15 minute intervels, damn whistles and Horns going off all day and night, and one change of clothes. Laundry every other day. The smell of Puke in everything, and on everybody. After a couple of days, the Chow lines were down to zilch. One Sailor said "He could feed all of us with one greasy Pork Chop on a String" That's what prison should be like. Put them Buggers on a Ship, and slowly transport them round and round out in the Pacific. It'l cost a lot less, and you can expect a lot less reciticizim.
